I often read freerepublic to see how the ultra conservatives see and spin the news. Early on I joined but was promptly "zotted" for my left leaning views. So please delete my e-mail if you are at all put off by corresponding with a "liberal". But please consider trading e-mail perhaps we can help each understand issues more fully.
The company in question is owned by the government of the UAE, it is not a private company at all. They control ports all over the world and could impact us by allowing cargo into the stream of traffic that could seriously harm us. They would know how our security works and know what to look for if they wanted to sneak something by us.
These guys are not our friends...
Dunno. I didn't send it. I've also not received it.
Kingdoms are constitutionally different from democracies. UAE is a kind of kingdom, which means the king owns everything and is the Gov't as well.
Probably a DUer who got your e-mail address. They are lurking here every day seeing if the UAE Port story will turn the Freepers against Bush and make us want to impeachment. I have been reading about this yesterday and today. They have been monitoring our responses to the Port story and they like what they see.
But I thought there was no terrorist threat and Bush just made it all up. So why worry.
If you don't want emails like that one, don't publically post your email address.
Was FR hacked and our emails revealed? Where is Algore?
Can anyone explain exactly how this deal would jeopardize U.S. security? It is a port...the same cargo that came in before the new company owns it will come in afterward. The same screening that used to happen will happen...it isn't the owner of the port that runs that...is it...I just think this is a knee jerk reaction for everyone to freak out like this. Unless I am proved wrong. Which is definitely possible.
That was your take on the matter yesterday, what will it be tomorrow?
Presumably he didn't email himself? You might want to read the OP again.
I think FreeLuna is posting the email that he/she received.
My last post was an e-mail I recieved...I was just wondering if anyone got else got the same e-mail. I am no lib...I am insulted at the accusation. ;0)
Nothing like that, but apparently, there's an herbal supplement that will help me impress my girl with a huge ***-shot. I was thinking of sending away for it, although my girl's never really indicated one way or the other an inclination towards being impressed with that kind of thing.

He's busy working out some algebraic algorithms for aljazeera.
"They control ports all over the world and could impact us by allowing cargo into the stream of traffic that could seriously harm us. They would know how our security works and know what to look for if they wanted to sneak something by us."
They can do that now since they control many ports of origin already. So if they were so inclined to be a conduit for dangerous terroristic cargo, they could have done so already. Further, they already know how our security works because a great deal of it is already conducted in the ports of origin controlled by the UAE company as part of the container security initiative that inspects cargo before it even makes it into a US port. But let's dispense with the "All Arabs are into terrorism" nonsense. It's no different than "all blacks are criminals." The UAE has been one of our most pro-active allies in the war on terror and this company is just about making money, not enabling terrorism. I really doubt they're going to jeopardize that by suddenly alligning their interests with Al Qaeda. Neither this company nor the UAE government are in any way implicated in terrorism.
Saying "This country are not our friends" is a good way to ensure we eventually don't have any friends.
Ultraconservatives try to limit the growth of the government and promote faithful adherence to Constitutional rule. This site specializes in blind and furious support of "all things Bush". These are not necessarily the same ideologies.
A few weeks back I got an Freep mail in my inbox and it was the old scam from someone in Algeria or some such place wanting me to supposedly put money in an account or some such nonsense. I just deleted it.
