Eleven suspected foreign fighters from Egypt and Saudi Arabia were seized by gunmen in Iraq's largely Shiite second city of Basra Wednesday and all but one of them lynched, police said.

The bodies of three of them were found in the city centre close to the offices of the state-owned South Oil Company.

The corpses of another seven were found in a southwestern neighbourhood of Basra.

The attack on the suspected Sunni militants came amid a wave of anger across Shiite central and southern Iraq over a bomb attack on one of Shiite Islam's holiest shrines.

Hmmm, as long as they were foreigners, this seems to be a good thing.

I have been wondering when the Iraqi's would start summarily executing the foreign terrorists. Seems a long time overdue.

Yep. When in Rome. As to the "sectarian" bombings, I only hope that the Iraqis figure out, understand and spread the word that that there are extranational forces at work...

This is a GOOD thing..
Especially since they didn't kill indiscriminately...

They SELECTED foreign fighters (terrorists) that had come to Iraq to kill... Most of those killed by these assholes, have been Iraqi.

It is "appropriate" for these bastards to die at the hands of Iraqis.....

These are probably the first terrorists "executed" in Iraq..

I hope we see more -- by any means available..
Perhaps this will dampen the enthusiasm of lunatics from going to Iraq to make trouble... That would be the only down side to wholesale slaughter of these jerks -- because Iraq has served beautifully as a shit magnet - attracting wannabe warriors to fulfill their Jihadi dreams...

They left one alive. Maybe they'll let him return home to tell the tale. It might dissuade other foreign fighters from entering. One can hope.

I agree.

I hope this a-holes realized seconds before they were killed that they weren't gonna go to heaven and collect their 72 virgins.

Yo Marine. Let us not forget your brother's in Al Anbar months back reporting that some of the local shia and sunni where killing goons from coming in from Syria and trying to take over their towns along the Euphrates in the rivertine strip.
Hopefully we shall hear this becoming a every day occurance all over Iraq. The sunni and shia must realize either of their kids or wives can get slain by these goons. And it is in their best interest to join the army or police, get a regular salary and kill this puke off, and pin point where zmans remaining clowns are holding up.
Though I have convinced myself zman has left for safer surrondings. That crap that he has sworn he will blow himself up before being caught is ballshit. He is no different then all those other leaders that gave up with a wimper when our guys spotted them and went in to get them. People like that are only brave when they hold the knife at a victims throat that is all tied up.

Unless I've missed something.....
These are the first "executions".....by ANY entity..

All the Jihadist assholes killed to date, have been killed on the battlefield, or armed men, border jumpers or smugglers attempting to enter the "battlefield" or escape the battlefield... All legitimate legal whacks.

These recent deaths - were UNARMED FOREIGN PRISONERS, taken out of jails and hanged.. Illegal, but I loved it.

I've always been opposed to the high level of Jihadists that have achieved "prisoner status"...
