What a misstep this has been! Worse the the Miers incident, I'd say. I'd say Bush should back down, if only for political reasons, but now that he's come down so much in favor of the thing, how can he without hurting himself more?

17%? I'm surprised it's that high.

New polling information reveals that the MSM and the polling companies can whip Americans into hysteria at any time they feel the compulsion to do so. They needed a follow-on to the "Dick Cheney should be impeached for shooting someone" story, and felt they had the GWB Admin on the run.

A small cadre of UAE supporters will be along shortly, to denounce 87% of the American population as racist xenophobes.

The knee-jerk demagogs from both parties have revealed themselves.

I predicted this on the first day, based on the polarized and vehement positions taken by the WH and GOP'ers.
If ever the Democrats had a position to lead them to taking over the congress in '06, this is it.

It will be funny to watch the MSM trot out a Rasmussen poll. It's like they never heard of them before today.

LOL! The same poll also demonstrates that the majority of the respondents don't have a real clue at how the ports are operated. This only demonstrates they are responding to the disinformation campaign and not to knowledge.

I would be considered a supporter.
This polling is bad news.

It's a shame that Bush's stubbornness is bringing down his whole party.
Even though most Republicans in Washington are against him on this they are being lumped into the mix anyway. sad

He will not back down.
Alienating the UAE after they've gone through a lawful vetting would be bad for the WOT. Why should they let us continue to utilize their ports for our Navy?

Hire Halliburton to do it!
