HILLARY CLINTON, DANGEROUS DEMAGOGUE: WHAT IS HER VOUCHER RANT REALLY ABOUT ANYWAY?

HILLARY CLINTON, DANGEROUS DEMAGOGUE
WHAT IS HER VOUCHER RANT REALLY ABOUT ANYWAY?

by Mia T, 02.25.06

illary clinton's voucher rant 1 is really not about vouchers at all.

Blatant hypocrisies, silly non sequiturs and dangerous lies make it easy to miss the underlying machinations.

So put aside for a moment Chelsea's private-school education at Sidwell Friends and Stanford... put aside standard issue clinton race-hate politics. Put them aside, for now.

"It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can keep him from lynching me, and I think that's pretty important."

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr
THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT?
clinton legacy of lynching update
by Mia T, 7.23.05

Ironically, the logic of this pronouncement by Martin Luther King would, in short order, be refuted by the reality of his own lynching. King's hope was misplaced and his reasoning was circular. The resultant rule of law relied on by King presumed an adherence to the rule of law in the first instance.

Adherence to the rule of law is not something normally associated with the clintons. Moreover, racial and ethnic disrespect, intimidation, exploitation and hate have always been a fundamental clinton tactic and the reflexive use the "N"-word and other racial and ethnic slurs, an essential element in the clinton lexicon. When the "first black president" and his wife ran Arkansas, the NAACP sued them for intimidating black voters at the polls.

The Curious Candidacy of Carol Moseley Braun:
an Extension of clinton drag and drop and legacy of lynching
by Mia T, 2.20.03

Focus instead on the underlying machinations....

Missus clinton was speaking to the South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation, (SoBRO), an organization that has taken on the formidable challenge of rebuilding a community whose name alone 'evokes images of burned out buildings, crime, poverty, and drugs.' (NB: Thirty-nine percent of the South Bronx is Black and 60% is Hispanic. Thirty-nine percent live below the poverty level.)

Capitalist sensibilities and faith-based initiatives drive SoBRO. This is precisely the kind of group that would be sympathetic to vouchers. (And to Republicans!)

So what does demagogue hillary do?

What else? She vulgarizes vouchers. She conflates vouchers with lynchings... and beheadings... and anti-Semitism and anti-Catholicism for good measure. In fact, given all the possible combinations and permutations of conflations actual, hypothetical and fantastical, bigots of every stripe can find something to savor in missus clinton's demagogic anti-voucher rant.

"When you look at the way the House of Representatives has been run, it has been run like a plantation, and you know what I'm talkin' about. [Note the gratuitous g-dropping.]

... We have a culture of corruption. We have cronyism. We have incompetence. I predict to you that this administration will go down in history as one of the worst that has ever governed our country."

(Miss hillary also apologized to a group of Hurricane Katrina evacuees in the audience "on behalf of a government that left you behind.)

"It's time for us to come together. It's time for us to rebuild a New Orleans, the one that should be, a chocolate New Orleans. And I don't care what people are saying uptown or wherever they are. This city will be chocolate at the end of the day.... You can't have New Orleans no other way."

New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin
Monday, January 16, 2006

It is no accident that missus clinton invoked white supremacists and jihadists in her discussion of vouchers in the South Bronx.

WHY WHITE SUPREMACISTS?

For hillary to win in '08, she must--to borrow her own phrase--keep the black vote 'on the plantation.' That is to say, she must keep them dirt poor, disinformed and dependent. No vouchers for them!

Katrina demonstrates the consequences of 'plantation' politics in real time. It is estimated that 80% of the Katrina-induced black diaspora will not return to New Orleans.

Why do you suppose the clintons and Landrieu -- through Mayor ('chocolate... You can't have New Orleans no other way') Nagin -- tried to get their voters back, post haste (no trouble bussing 'em straightaway and en masse when it's to the polls) -- to a still toxic morgue with no potable water, no emergency support and with renewed risk of deluge?

GONE WITH THE WIND
(miss hillary's '
plantation' blunder)

Calculating a black man's worth to be 5/3 of a vote is no less racist, and arguably more so, than calculating his worth to be 3/5 of a white man; the latter is demeaning, but the former is dehumanizing.

WHY JIHADISTS?

The election of 2004 confirmed missus clinton's worst fears2:
9/11 and
the clintons' willful, utter failure for eight years to confront terrorism) were transformative. They caused a political realignment--for all practical purposes permanent--that is not good news for clinton, or for the Democrats, generally.

The white woman, the only real swing voter, the demographic missus clinton MUST get in order to win the White House, has turned red.3

"Suppose you're meeting today to decide who got the vouchers.

First parent comes, says, 'I wanna send my daughter to St. Peter's Roman Catholic School.' You say, 'Great. Wonderful school. Here's your voucher.'

Next parent comes, says, 'I wanna send, you know, my child to the Jewish Day School.' 'Great. Here's your voucher.'

Next parent comes, says, 'I wanna send my child to the private school that I've always dreamed of sending my child to.' 'Fine. Here's your voucher.'

Next parent comes, says, 'I wanna send my child to the School of the Church of the White Supremacist. 'Say, wait a minute. You can't send--we're not giving you a voucher for that.' And the parent says, 'Well, the way I read Genesis, Cain was marked. Therefore, I believe in white supremacy. And therefore, you gave it to Catholic parent, you gave it to a Jewish parent, gave it to a secular private school parent. Under the Constitution, you can't discriminate against me.'

So the next parent comes and says, 'I wanna send my child to the School of the Jihad.' 'Wait a minute! We're not gonna send a child with taxpayer dollars to the School of the Jihad.' .Well, you gave it to the Catholics, you gave it to the Jews, you gave it to the private secular people. You're gonna tell me I can't. I'm a taxpayer under the Constitution.'

Now, tell me, how are we gonna make those choices."

"If you look at white women, and I think that was the key to this election, Kerry won 45% based on the exit polls--but they're generally in agreement--Kerry won 45%, Bush won 55% of white women.

By contrast, Bush won only 45% of white women in 2000, so he upped is percentages by 10 points.

In 1996, bill clinton won 48% of white women compared to Bob Dole's 43%.

That is a huge, huge difference. I don't think you can lay all that at the doorstep of moral values.

I think that this president unabashedly and abjectly took the issue of terror and used it to terrorize... white women."

3.

In the immediate aftermath of the 2004 presidential election, a journalistic consensus emerged to explain George W. Bush's victory. Despite the sluggish economy and deteriorating situation in Iraq, voters supported Bush primarily because of his values. One prominently featured exit poll question showed "moral values" to be the most important issue for voters, ahead of terrorism, Iraq, and the economy. Backlash against the Massachusetts court ruling allowing gay marriage and attraction of Bush's appeals to Christian faith helped bring out socially conservative voters and cement Bush's second term. This explains why Bush won Ohio, for example, where an anti-gay marriage proposal was on the ballot. However compelling this story might be, it is wrong.

Instead, Bush won because married and white women increased their support for the Republican ticket....

In this article I briefly account for the factors behind Bush's rise in the state-by-state popular vote between 2000 and 2004. This is not the same as identifying who elected Bush. That sort of analysis would put responsibility on white men since they voted 61-38 for Bush and comprise almost half of the active electorate. Instead, I focus on what changed between 2000 and 2004. In this view, it is white women who are responsible because they showed more aggregate change.

Identifying a cause for this shift looks for an explanation also in things that changed in the past four years. For example, John Kerry was not exactly Al Gore, so differences between Bush's two opponents could be a factor. But I suggest that such differences are dwarfed by a much larger intervention: the attacks of September 11. Turnout was up in 2004 because the perceived heightening of the stakes after 9-11 and because of intense competition between the candidates in a small number of battleground states. Higher turnout also appears to have helped Bush slightly. But it was the shift of married white women from the Democratic camp to the Republican camp that gave him the edge in 2004.

So the next parent comes and says, 'I wanna send my child to the School of the Jihad.'

The explanation for this rant? She's a socialist.

Leftists look at programs like school vouchers and see only one thing: "The stupid people" (i.e. non-liberals) making life choices with their own money.

The leftist goal is to take away the economic power from as many people as they can--through taxation here--and thus that money is no longer the property of the silly individual who earned it, but "community" (i.e. the "people's congress" i.e. the elite Decision Makers's) money. YOU (single) do not get to decide what to do with that money, because you might make a "selfish" decision, one based on self-interest. (Aka self-reliance.) WE (plural) should get to decide what to do with that money, because we are all connected, what you do affects me, and him, and that one over there.

HRC lists several school choices--Catholic, Jewish, secular, White Supremacist, Jihadi--and instead of her "multicultural/everyone gets everything" approach, she makes a JUDGMENT that of course we can all agree with--namely, that some choices are repugnant to us, and we don't want OUR (plural) tax money going to fund THAT; but someone is free to send their kids to those schools on their own dime.

So in the guise of keeping YOUR/OUR (singular/plural) money out of the hands of white racists and jihadists, we can hide under the WE of the state/the collective--if one person in that collective finds that school racist, ZAP, no money for them.

The solution is clear.

If you are an individualist dedicated to individual liberty, you support cutting taxes so the individual has enough money to make his or her own educational choices. Doesn't matter if he sends his kid to a racist school, because it's HIS money, and we don't have to support the school, so we are thus cut out of the controlling structure. He gets to be a racist ass, but that's his choice, we are free to spend our money where we wish, and HE has no say over it.

If you are a socialist, you prevent that individual from having control of his own life choices, because OBVIOUSLY this is a poor life choice. So you tax him, and deny the use of vouchers, so he can't touch that money that was taken from him and put into OUR community funds. Mrs. Clinton and you have done nothing to earn that money, but now you have control over that money.

And with control of one's earnings comes control of one's life.

And that's what HRC wants.

Being a socialist explains why she is anti-voucher, generally. It does not, IMO, fully explain her bizarre rant.

She's trying to put her socialism into a context that a black audience would see as defending against racism. She's a despicable woman, always aiming her crap at audiences based on their race ala Al Gore.

She was trying to show how socialism will defend against racism, and it was pathetic. She is not a logical thinker at all--she merely latches on to an idea that appeals to her sensibilities and then that's as far as she goes, from that point on she just pleads. There she was trying to make taking money away from black people and limiting their choices look like a good thing, like big sister was looking out for them. A revolting woman who flails around grabbing 60's-70's leftyspeak because she doesn't much like people, she's more comfortable with ideas, yet she hasn't the capacity to think clearly and logically.

Question: Why do you suppose she chose those particular bogymen? Do you think they were arbitrary? Or did they serve a purpose?

Wasn't she speaking to a New York teacher's group? I thought it was indicated that most or all of the audience was black. So she picked the White Supremacy school for obvious reasons; the Jihadi for obvious reasons for a New Yorker; and the Jews, Catholics and secularists to appear "mainstream."

I don't know about you but I sensed she'd have liked to put the Catholic school in with the last couple, skipped the Jewish school, and held up the secularist school at the "good" school.

What's going on here is somewhat clear to me.

First of all I have a liberal aunt/uncle pair who have been in education as well as other liberal causes their entire lives. I can vividly being in their house about 3 years ago or so, and they made this *exact* argument to me i.e. we can't have vouchers because they might be used to send someone to a KKK school or whatever. So this "argument" has clearly been floating around in education circles for a reasonably long period of time and is probably routinely pulled out and dusted off when need be. Missus clinton probably heard this argument and decided to use it making it sound like she had thought it up.

What is more curious to me is her delivery. It is told in the *exact* same format as you might tell an ethnic joke. If you go back an listen, some of the internal cadences resemble an ethnic joke. She's making a policy argument but the rhythm, the cadences, the sonata form is as if she were saying "Catholic, Jew, White Supremacicist and Jihadist walk into a bar".

Usally these jokes are told with 3 examples, the first two for the setup, and the last one for the punchline. In her case she has 2 setup and 2 punchline. Which has its own disconcerting effect as we're not used to 2 punchlines!

But again, this is Yet Another demonstration of her political tone deafness - this is not the cadence of political speech - this is the cadence of someone telling a bad ethnic joke and one in which the audience just wishes they were somewhere's else.

One gets the feeling that she tells a lot of these jokes, tells them poorly, but woe be unto Those Who Will Not Laugh.

You vill hear ze joke and you vill like it, jah?

No. She was speaking to the South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corp., a group that would be SYMPATHETIC to vouchers. Hence my argument.

One thing to consider in weighing the possibilities: hillary clinton, not socialism, not the Democrat Party, is #1 for hillary clinton.

Life is in session but unfortunately the voters are not present. If they were, they'd see the hypocracy of the Rangels, clintons and Sharptons all singing the familiar refrain while sending their kiddies to private schools.

Perhaps I gave far too much credit to Rove's instinct, particularly when saying of clinton: “She has seen what the job requires,” he said. “And she has been through six gubernatorial campaigns, two presidential campaigns, and then two senatorial campaigns in a big, industrial state. So she will be a formidable campaigner. She’ll be sure-footed.”

If her ridiculous rant was any indication of her "extensive campaign experience and sure footedness", (and I pray it continues) she can kiss the nomination goodbye.

Well in that case refer to my previous posts; she was trying to slant her position in such a way that, as I wrote, taking power away from the individual was seen as a good thing, that while they may have liked the idea of vouchers, it would enable evil white racists to take "their" tax money and use it for evil white racist schooling.

Her plantation, and you know what I'm talkin' about, idea is truly creepy. She's basically wagging her finger at the crowd and saying "You're too stupid to know you're supporting racism when you support vouchers."

To be honest I had forgotten about the Mahatma Ghandi line ( the problem is that so many new gaffes come along we tend to forget a lot of the old ones - good thing you're here to keep us straight :) ) but yes, the voucher quote is to me Ghandi redux - the same awkward, reaching quality, the same uncomfortable audience response, the same suspension of common sense and political judgement in response to adulation and campaign cash. And I'm sure there is no one to correct the Smartest Woman in the World, who could take on such a charge?

bump! They both have the same subtle touch ;)

And the usual droning-when-not-screeching,11 midwestern-twanged-except-when-g-droppin'-preachin'-to-blacks-or-rubes 7 missus clinton was her usual arrogant, banal self, a familiar affect, which she invariably punctuates--just in case--with coordinating and correspondingly condescending thematic attire.

Gingham-cum-flag-pin is her standard rube/red-state garb. 8 Predictably, missus clinton donned a mandarin-collared shirt--no flag pin in sight--to pander to the Asian-infused, ultra-left-wing San Francisco set.

But she forgot, apparently, to look in the mirror: The image on the screen was more Mao than mandarin 9.

Yet some would argue, perversely, that the Mao look was, in fact, precisely what made her choice of attire absolutely perfect.

This is the first in a series of (oops!) inadvertent disclosures made by the not very swift missus clinton during her chitchat with Jane Pauley in the city by the bay.

The gist of they intent can I but gape on.
Dost thou propose the prez be made a capon?

In blood caught up these wretches play their role,
But this must not become Le Grand Guignol.
Lest those of delicate mien be made to faint,
'Twere better I should exercise restraint.

Mind you, Act I, scene 4 drips the odd bit of gore here and there.

MIA T:
Thy bard's excessive predilection metaphorical
confuseth redoubled sharp-edged entendre with one blunt oracle.

Forsooth, thy bard surely knowth,
Phallus on eunuch can't growth.
Plucking capon from hen's an impossibility,
Unless the cluck's hermaphroditic Hillary.

I can't recall anyone who ever met Hillary remarking on her sense of humor.

She is not a logical thinker at all--she merely latches on to an idea that appeals to her sensibilities and then that's as far as she goes, from that point on she just pleads.

Astute observation.

HILLARY!?? WHAT IS THIS MORIBUND LOSER DOING IN THE POLITICAL ARENA, ANYWAY? (bill's bud explains)

Clinton Administration Veteran:
"Hillary Rodham Clinton needs to be kept very far away from the White House for the rest of her life."

My two cents' worth--and I think it is the two cents' worth of everybody who worked for the Clinton Administration health care reform effort of 1993-1994--is that Hillary Rodham Clinton needs to be kept very far away from the White House for the rest of her life. Heading up health-care reform was the only major administrative job she has ever tried to do. And she was a complete flop at it. She had neither the grasp of policy substance, the managerial skills, nor the political smarts to do the job she was then given. And she wasn't smart enough to realize that she was in over her head and had to get out of the Health Care Czar role quickly.... there is no reason to think that she would be anything but an abysmal president.

Hillary in Aviary

by Mia T, November 2000, sometime before "the first Tuesday after the first Monday"

"Bird of paradise" would have been a brilliant wrong answer for the New-York-state-bird question; in one fell swoop it would have flattered the necessary constituency, rendered hillary's cheating marginally believable and suggested a quick, secure, creative mind.

But the obsessively perfectionistic dodo wasn't able to fake even one wrong answer in the Letterman phony "pop quiz," a nostalgic electuary of "Twenty-One" fraud and (Groucho) Marxist left-wing crow.

Instead, this documented incompetent with no apparent creative or analytic (not to mention thespian) skills gushed forth with a lame--"It's the bluebird--I know that" --globally exposing herself to be the corrupt clown that the sentient among us already know she is.

It is no accident--and the Sheehy hagiography notwithstanding, it is certainly not because of any patriarchal society--that this reflexive kleptocrat never sought office. She never ran simply because she is a perfectionist and an incompetent who cannot tolerate personal (as opposed to bill-related) criticism, witness the prescreened, heavily controlled, sycophantic crowds, her pre-programmed, totally scripted appearances (or, alternatively, her totally mute "listening tour"), her unavailability to the press, indeed, her "bluebird."

Thus, the question begging to be asked is this:

Why would this compulsively perfectionistic grotesquerie allow herself to be unambiguously exposed as the utter incompetent and fraud and fool and horror that she is?

And why would this self-proclaimed protector of "the children" prolong her own child's profound trauma by forcing her own bottom-heavy self, soiled in its own right, onto the political stage?

The answer, I believe, resides more in liberty loss than in power gain.

Simply put, she is not running for office; she is running from indictment.

And I fear Starr successor, Robert Ray, is unable to catch her...
Or catch on. (On second thought, maybe the problem is that he does....)

Ray's recent statement , " I have been charged with responsibly conducting the work of this office. Some of my responsibility is to ensure that there is no untoward effect on the political process," both confirms and encourages this latest round of clinton raping, pillaging, despoiling, destroying.

Will this nightmare never end?

"You're too stupid to know you're supporting racism when you support vouchers." Exactly. Truly contemptible.., and ironic. hillary clinton is exploiting their worst fears by being the ultimate racist, herself.

Something had been bothering me ever since I first heard this clip. The whiff of racism was undeniable, but it seemed to exceed the actual words.

You nailed it. The form and cadence of an ethnic joke. Very insightful! Thanx.

"Doesn't she also remind you of Al Gore with his "accent" which he puts on when he talks to black people? Ick, that's embarassing."

George Bush does exactly the same thing. He drops "g's" more and his accent gets thicker when he's talking to the general public. He's more "refined" sounding when he's talking to executives or some similar group.

The reality is that we all do it to some degree. Even if you don't change your accent you change the way you talk to people based on your perceptions of them. I know I do in my job. And I do it because it works.

Given everything else, this is a pretty silly thing to spend any time on.

As you concede, it does provide insight into the speaker's view of his audience, which, In the case of the clintons and Gore, is, invariably, haughty disdain.

So when Bush does it what is it? And there are times when he sounds (on purpose) positively backwoods and uneducated. That isn't talking down to people?

Sorry, but I don't think it's haughty disdain, even when Clinton and Gore do it. It's a simple trick to try to connect better with the audience. And it usually works whether you're black, white, urban, rural or whatever.

When you try to connect some nefarious meaning to every little thing a person like Clinton or Gore does, you start sounding obsessed and even your excellent points start having less impact.
