I interned for him in the late 90s. I didn't agree with his stances at all, esp. when he voted against impeaching Clinton.

But, I was an intern so I kept my mouth shut. (Insert intern/Monica joke here)

The media chatter in NYS seems to be that State Sens. Raymond Meier and James Seward, whose districts overlap with the Congressional District, are prime contenders; and that a primary between the two is unlikely.

After watching the presentation Ray Meier made in Buffalo to support DFAS jobs in Rome, NY and obviously winning the day, he would be a great replacement for that jerk Boehlert.

Meier is conservative, more so than G.W.B.

Don't confuse upstate NY with NYC, upstate is solidly in the red, it's only downstate that is in the blue.

Ray is very business friendly. He was our County Executive for several years. Really gives Medicaid a trouncing when ever he talks about it.

With a lifetime ACU rating of 40, Boehlert has a lower conservative point total than Democrat Ben Nelson of Nebraska (52).

Boehlert is so liberal that some Dems are asking fellow dems not to go against him because he votes for everything they want.

I know a few people who interned for him around the same time. Where did you go to undergrad? I started out at Elmira College before transferring out after my second year (1998-1999).

With NY expected to lose at least two more CDs after the 2010 census...they'll follow the same format as 2000 and kill one Dem and one GOP district...so this may be a stopgap measure here..

Good riddance. The guy is a slime in his personal life. I know more about it than I can say here. But you all would not be happy to hear about it.

I was intern for him around fall/spring 1998. I started out at SU, then went to GW around 1997.
