Stop Trashing Our Country !
One of the joys of being retired is having time to surf the Web : to travel in minutes to the most remote parts of the world, and to read what people are doing , saying, thinking.
One of the sorrows of this virtual journey is to encounter fellow Americans who feel compelled to trash the reputation of their own country usually while heaping praise on some two-bit leftist tyrant from another land.
Its one thing to do this at home. Some message boards are awash with such pronouncements ,but ,because of their highly partisan nature, may be taken with a grain of salt-or disregarded completely.
When self-described Americans sign on to overseas message boards - and insist on using this device to show how intellectually evolved they are , they are merely showing their profound ignorance of the real world , as they single out their own country for scornful attack.
Every nation, every culture, every society be it ever so small, or ever so large has had its share of history the natives would rather not talk about.
Some of the stories are so horrendous , so full of foul deeds as to give any normal person nightmares ; and many of these nightmare scenarios are either ongoing or only recently ended.
Moreover, some of the worlds worst offenders in this regard, expend tremendous amounts of time and money urging us to overlook their deeds and to condemn our own heritage .
Did you notice I said our heritage ?
That means its not yours to trash.
Its ours to share !
You tell 'em, Gene!!!
Democracy is the rule of fools by fools.

Herein lies the problem. People today don't take the time to examine multiple news sources, or worst, let the one news source they use form their opinions on what is important news based on whatever twist the source puts on it.
