These people are really disgusting. I thought they just hate people, but apparently they hate pets too.

From a news story at the web site:
"The animal-cruelty investigator for the Northampton County (North Carolina) sheriff's department shared her outrage with the Virginian-Pilot a few days after the arrests: "Some animals have to be euthanized," she told the paper, "but the way this crowd did it is sick." "
One Norfolk television station aired a heartbreaking interview with the manager of the supermarket whose dumpster became an impromptu pet cemetery. "They just slung the doors [open] and started throwing dogs ... beautiful cats. I saw a [dead] beagle last week that was pregnant ... last week it was 23 or 24 dogs ... it's happened to us nine times ... they drove straight from there, straight here, and disposed of the dogs in 30 seconds."

I did not at first understand the difference between the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and PETA; they seemed to overlap with the "newer" PETA taking center stage much more often. But now I know that PETA are a bunch of socialists or communists with a darker agenda that merely uses animals. Donate to the SPCA; they are indeed helping us to act responsibly with our animals and pets, and prosecute those who do not. For PETA that is just a front; they want to go against the will of the people to enforce vegetarianism and, probably, worse!

Years ago,in upstate NY,at a friends farm house, while riding our horses,we came across a very large wooden crate that had been sealed up tight. We could detect a slight whimper coming from inside,so we decided to open it up.When we lifted the lid,one of the most shocking things I had ever seen Awaited all of us.Inside where all breeds of dogs dead, piled up,it was heartbreaking.Apparently the friends dad had a contract to bury them on his farm after they were put to sleep by the humane society.Th method used was to cut a round hole in the box after it had been sealed,A tractor exhaust was then pumped in to the box.Its like one of those pictures you never get out of your mind. The noise we heard was a little puppy way down in the middle. We had to move a lot of dead animals to get to him.My friends had no knowledge their dad had been doing that, and he quit right after. We got the puppy cleaned and fed[cleaning was a little hard,as the animals had been in the box for at least 3 days and it was summer.]It took a couple weeks to get the smell of death off of him.He turned out to be a pretty good farm dog.Of course we all spoiled him rotten! That was 30 years ago,I sure hope things have changed.

PETA people aren't people, they're heartless mental-case zombies. Can't get much more disgusting than them.
Thanks for posting this. I seem to recall some similar occurrence in the NY/NJ area a few years ago.

What a heartbreaking story. Thanks for sharing it. I had a nightmare or two about what the vet's office might have really done with my beloved cat of 13 years last summer when I took her in to have her put down. I wouldn't stick around for her final moment. It was just too hard. Now I wish I had.
To: manwiththehands
You shouldn't be too hard on yourself. If you went to a reputable place,I venture they did the right thing.I am a pretty tough sob,but I cant watch my animals put down.My wife has taken the last two God bless her.I have had to put down some of my animals, cows, horses, but I just cant do it to my best friends.

Smidge was my "best friend". I'm a "tough sob", too, but letting her go was the hardest thing I ever did in my life. I think my emotions shocked me more than losing her.
Thanks. You're a kind soul. You understand. And yes, God bless your wife.
Life goes on ... now I have two kittens that I rescued from abandonment and "feral" status a few months ago. These little "munchkins" treat me like they died and went to heaven. :-)

Oh my gosh, this is so sad. It made me cry. I hate it that there are so many kill shelters out there. I saved my babies from one. Please spay and neuter everyone!! So horrible - kittens and puppies which are very adoptable too.
To: Kaylee Frye
I hate it that there are so many kill shelters out there. I saved my babies from one. Ever see this list of excuses of why people gave their pets to shelters? Sickening. (The cat "doesn't match my new decor" has to top the list, IMO.)

Oh, how sad and horrible... I want to take all those people's pets... Too bad I don't have that much money... About 99% of those excuses came down to "I'm too lazy/cheap to take care of my animal" or "I'm a complete moron", but the latter encompasses pretty much all of them!
