LOL!

I have an opinion about it.

It's far too pleasant for the inmates.

The Canadians better be careful or we'll send up a boyscout troop to kick their ass and take over the country.

Nope. We have a secret weapon. Tim Hortons Donuts. Your troops will never make it past the first one they encounter . Sugar coated and honey glazed .The third one is the killer.

My neighor who owns the house right next to me is a Canadian ... and a university professor. And he hates the USA.

Of course he does.
You cannot get a job in an American university otherwise.

What would make the most sense is for a population exchange.

Lets trade Canada our liberals for their Conservatives.

Then we both would be uniformly happy.

Man, I dunno. Any country that has a 55-yard line in football is alien past imagination.

am drawing conclusions about Canadians by the ones I
meet. I have known some that are very nice but we don't
talk politics. Increasingly I am meeting and reading
about Canadians who think they are superior ... who
hate this administration, etc.

Yes, I've noticed that the percentage of Canadians who
think the current U.S. Administration has its head up
its arse is about the same as the percentage of Americans that do.
And there appears to be an increasing number of Conservatives
(and maybe even some Republicans) who feel the
same way.
I don't think that disagreeing with Administartion actions (or lack thereof)
has anything to do with feeling superior. I suspect that
you are doing a wee bit of projection, n'est pas?

I dunno about that many of my Canadian friends delight
no end in bringing up 1812. LOL

Wow, you must have a really pathetic bunch of Canadian friends.
The only palce I EVER see the war of 1812 mentioned is on this forum.
I'm willing to give odds that vast majority of Canadians wouldn't have clue #1 about the war of 1812..

Tim Hortons...mmmmmmm. I have a buddy who claims that their coffee is a worse addiction than drugs, having tried it a few times, I'm inclined to agree.

Bring it on...
BTW, dress up like baby seals pups when you do.

Any country that awards a sports trophy that cannot hold booze is just too bizarre to imagine ;-)

It only makes sense that two countries who share such similar cultures will be more or less very much alike. I've been to Canada a number of times in the past twenty years, (and have Canadian relatives), and sampling Canada as a tourist is not much different than going to another State. That doesn't mean Canadians and Americans are virtually the same, it just means were more similar than we are different.

"hates the USA"

Maybe he hates it when he looks inside himself and sees himself as being very similar to Americans. He's probably not much different than most self-loathing, anti-American Americans. Hate gives many people a reason for living as love does.
