Would you happen to know the story of the Anzac cookies? They are just awesome. We had the opportunity to try some homemade (with all the right ingredients) a few years ago, and last year I found them in my grocery with proceeds benefitting the coalition. I was happy to find them, but I had heard about Anzac being a commemoration day, and am confused about the cookies and their meaning.

My understanding is the cookies were first made during WWI and sent to the diggers abroad, hence the name 'ANZAC' (Australia New Zealand Army Corps).
