PM does an amazing job covering the "mechanics" of many issues. I bought a subscription for DH for Christmas, never thinking a "guy mag" would interest me in the least. Now we both fight over who gets to read it first, LOL!

Cancelled "Newsweak" months ago due to their leftist rantings and constant Bush-bashing. Plus, I couldn't read one more column by Anna Quindlen justifying abortion every time it was her turn for an editorial. Yeesh! What a one-note wonder, she is! They still keep sending me their rag and now they e-mail me on top of it. Losers.

The reason I thought it was a joke is that everyone and his brother is talking about Katrina. It's the story that will not end. Next, I'm expecting that Sports Illustrated, or Bicycling World will run an article. Maybe Coin Collector Magazine, too.

"Myth #3: “’Perhaps not just human error was involved [in floodwall failures]. There may have been some malfeasance.’—Raymond Seed, civil engineering professor, UC, Berkeley, testifying before a Senate committee, Nov. 2, 2005”

There’s been a lot of second-guessing and finger pointing concerning the levee design, and who was responsible for their failure. According to PM, these were all built according to specifications:"

Next time I'm in New Orleans, I'll take pictures of the massive earthen lake levees that protect New Orleans from the lake and also of the puny little canal levees with the flood walls atop them. We can then compare them. It's a no brainer. Those drainage canals should have never been exposed to the lake. If flood gates had been placed on those canals where they meet the lake, thereby isolating those canals from the lake surge, we wouldn't be having this discussion, and I'd still be in my home in Lakeview.

Gosh, I recall the video of the big-screen television sets that were just WALKING down the flooded streets...

I found this issue somewhere early in June, borrowed it, and finally (today) got around to tracking it down online. After archiving it, I looked for FR topics about it, and found this one.

"Katrina Myths":
Google
on FR:
Google
remarkably, the sniveling windbags and slanderers of the left have done their best to perpetuate those myths, even in the face of the slam dunking from the data.

Thanks, civ
Americans need to know this, but was can't rely on the mainstream daily media to keep us informed --- they are in the misinformation business.
