Bush "Gold Card" would let open borders to cheap labor
Stein Report ^ | March 6, 2006 | Dan Stein

Posted on 03/06/2006 8:26:39 PM PST by lonewacko_dot_com

...The Stein Report has learned of an secret briefing for Senate staffers by the Bush administration today. In a move to build support for Bush's guest worker amnesty plan, administration officials talked about how they would actually implement the program. Jaws dropped as the administration reps explained the centerpiece of the program, a "Gold Card" that would enable illegal aliens to enter the U.S. at will, and work at any job with no labor market or other tests needed but would deny them citizenship. "Gold Card" would be valid forever, similar to current "Green Cards" but illegal aliens holding a "Gold Card" would not be able to adjust their status through naturalization...

Please do explain.

I was thinking along those lines - that our backing a 3rd party would either force the Republicans back to the right to get our votes again or the 3rd party would eventually get enough members to be a force unto itself. It will take a long time, but I'm fedup enough that I don't care.

Anything other than upholding the law as it is written is nothing but a sell-out.

Bush to potential illegals: Make it past out border batrol and I will help you to reap the benefits.

The platinum card would be total and complete anarchy. Who would have every imagined in their wildest dreams that neoliberals and "moderate" quasi libertarian faux conservatives ever would have joined forces and started to turn into anarchists?

Trust me, I've see myself. I know what I am, my triumphs and failures. But most of all, I was on duty as Second W/C when those two Nicaraguans were taken from the county jail and murdered by persons unknown to me.

I beat myself up for years, thinking I could have done something different.

I spent a lot of time and money getting to the bottom and still don't know everything.

But my crystal ball says Dubya will continue to mishandle a number of issues important to the American people in order to insure Hildabeast's election.

Do you suppose GWB is hoping that if he welcomes them in they'll vote R instead of D?

Yes. I think that's exactly what he believes.

I wouldn't spend too much time trying to convince the "everything just happens by accident" crowd about the script the "actors" will be performing the next couple years to get the result you speak of. Anyone with half a brain should be able to see that even with all of Hillary's baggage the fact that she's even seriously discussed as a credible candidate for '08 shows how whacked out the political types are and that the fix could very well be in.

The last election proved that, in spite of the pandering, the Republican party made no gains in the Latino vote. They are not being given what they want fast enough.

All very true. But it won't stop the Pubbies' relentless quest to out-compassion the libs in their neverending race to the bottom of the economic and cultural globalist ladder.

Hispanics Chase Jobs to Middle America

By STEPHEN OHLEMACHER, Associated Press Writer

Tue Mar 7, 12:21 AM ET

WASHINGTON - Heartland communities with jobs to offer are becoming magnets for Hispanics, who now account for half the nation's population growth.

Hispanics in the U.S. — both recent immigrants and people born here — are moving beyond traditional ports of entry in large numbers, boosting the populations of states such as North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and Indiana, a study by the Brookings Institution shows.

And they are heading not only to big cities; many are moving to historically white, non-Hispanic suburbs, said William Frey, a demographer at Brookings and the author of the study, which is being released Tuesday.

"The people there are now getting a taste of diversity, firsthand," Frey said in an interview.

While diversity enriches communities, it also can present challenges, even when the local Hispanic population is relatively small, Frey said. Many schools, social service agencies and government officials must, for the first time, deal with numbers of people who do not speak English very well, Frey said.

"You're the first kid on the block when you come into some of these neighborhoods and it's not always easy," Frey said. "There will have to be a little bit of accommodation from both the newcomers and the people already there."

Frey analyzed Census Bureau population estimates from 1990, 2000 and 2004 for 361 metropolitan areas in the United States.

In 2004, white non-Hispanics made up 67 percent of the American population, but they accounted for only 18 percent of the population growth from 2000 to 2004. Hispanics, meanwhile, made up only 14 percent of the population in 2004, while they accounted for 49 percent of the population growth since the start of the decade.

Blacks made up 12 percent of the population in 2004, and accounted for 14 percent of the population growth from 2000 to 2004. Asians made up 4 percent of the population in 2004, and accounted for 14 percent of the population growth.

Those trends are expected to continue, with white non-Hispanics making up less than half the American population by about 2050, according to Census Bureau projections. Minorities already make up most of the population in four states: California, Hawaii, New Mexico and Texas.

Minorities make up 40 percent or more of the population in five other states: Arizona; Georgia; Maryland, Mississippi and New York.

Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Chicago continue to have the largest Hispanic populations in the country. But Hispanic populations are growing faster elsewhere.

From 2000 to 2004, Hispanic populations grew by more than 40 percent in six metropolitan areas: Atlanta; Cape Coral, Fla.; Charlotte, N.C.; Indianapolis; Nashville, Tenn., and Raleigh, N.C.

Hispanics moved to those areas because their economies are creating jobs, said Roberto Suro, director of the Pew Hispanic Center, a research organization in Washington.

"New York, Chicago and Los Angeles have gotten expensive, and they haven't been growing a fast as Charlotte and Raleigh," Suro said.

"Those places all tend to be metro areas where the overall population is growing fast and where the economies are vibrant," Suro said. "That kind of rapid economic growth and expansion creates a demand, particularly for recently arrived immigrant workers."

YOU SAID...."Anyone with half a brain should be able to see that even with all of Hillary's baggage the fact that she's even seriously discussed as a credible candidate for '08 shows how whacked out the political types are and that the fix could very well be in."

The President has had AMPLE opportunity to take Hillary out of the race for '08. He has had the opportunity to destroy the Clinton legacy. Isn't that what we all on FR would want to happen? Apparently not....its the 'new tone' and all that.

ABLE DANGER COVERUP AND 9-11 COMMISSION OMMISSION

SANDY BERGER PANTSGATE AND GORELICK

THE COX REPORT AND CHINAGATE CIRCULAR FILE DEPOSIT

ETC,ETC.....

I think one logical explanation for Republican acquiescence to the fact that Hillary is still a front runner for 08, is because some Republican 'strategist's' have concluded that its better if Hillary is in power when the inevitable happens in the 2010-2012 time frame....and China makes its move on Taiwan....

And the US stands down.....

Or perhaps there is another even more cynical motive at play here.

Just a little 'tinfoil' is all...

Worse yet, when I was looking for a new job, some of the postings required receptionists to be bi-lingual. These jobs were not located in south TX or other border states but in SOUTH CAROLINA!

It's scary to connect the dots, but factor in what transpired in India (and Pakistan) last week and what was likely talked about there.
