Candidate says incumbent Republican not advocating biblical values enough

A Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Ohio wants to make homosexual behavior a capital crime punishable by the death penalty.
Merrill Keiser Jr. is a trucker with no political experience, but he hopes to beat fellow Democrat Rep. Sherrod Brown in the May primary. The winner will try to unseat Republican incumbent Sen. Mike DeWine, assuming he wins the GOP primary.
"Just like we have laws against murder, we have laws against stealing, we have laws against taking drugs – we should have laws against immoral conduct," Keiser told WTOL-TV in Toledo.
Keiser, 61, says he's running as a Democrat because that's how he was registered the last time he voted.
The trucker, who hails from Fremont, Ohio, says there needs to be more adherence to biblical values in government, business and education – something he claims DeWine is not promoting.
"I believe that the United States has been moved in a Godless direction by the courts," he told the Sandusky Register. "To get good men on the court, we need good senators."
Some of Keiser's other positions include defense of the Second Amendment, securing U.S. borders, lower taxes to stimulate the economy, support of Israel and prayer in public schools.
Keiser told the Register the United States should make conversion to Christianity part of the war on terror to teach Muslims the error of their choice in religion.
The candidate also decries evolution, saying it is contrary to the Declaration of Independence.
Anyone who thinks that gays should be killed, regardless of whether or not you agree with their lifestyle, is nothing more than an absolute Hitleresque wacko. People like u aren't conservative. I fail to see the parallel between wanting a small government as well as lower taxes and wanting to commit acts of genocide on 10% of the population. This better be some sort of joke. He registered as a Democrat because it was the last party he registered as. Hmmmmmmmm.
As a point of clarification before I go to bed, let me reiterate what I said in earlier posts.
The Scriptures do not condone capital punishment because someone has a tendency to the same sex. It's the ACT that is judged, not the thought.
Same with pedophiles and murderers. One could go to the state themselves and admit a tendency and there is no STATE condemnation. It's the ACTING OUT of these sins that becomes a crime to the state. Then, and only then are they punishable by the state.
This is the Biblical position in my view. I've debated this with many people in the past and it's always an interesting one. At the end of the day, all Christians jobs are the same. Let people know about Christ and set them free from their sin.

If you follow the post trail, you can see that I was responding to someone who thought the candidate was Republican.
Biiiiig difference between "let him die" and "kill him." Plus, um, how is it that one sentence takes up four verses? You may want to do a better job at checking sources. If you did, you'd seen it is a reference, not a teaching.
I find it very surprising that anyone on FR would even pretend to be too stupid to understand that the exchange was not about the Consitutional permissibility of advocating killing of homosexuals, but about whether someone was advocating killing of homosexuals.
Some may 'feel' Conservative Coulter Fan advocates killing; however, he/she has not stated such. Why not drop the Spanish Inquistion already?
It is evident the topic has been hijacked and taken on a religious bible bashing tangent now and it appears several of the usual suspects have joined in... I would suggest that the religious bible bashing tangent too be dropped.
Again, Coulter Fan did not actually advocate killing homosexuals (it is my understanding that doing so would merit an automatic zotting on FR e.g. no violence).

And, you make a very good point. ABortionist = feticide infanticide = killers of abortionists. The differences come with the scope and magnitude of the abortionists performing millions of executions.

Reread the post. There is no mention of homosexuals -- and for the record, I don't believe in murdering the mentally ill and that includes homosexuals, Nambla members, pedophiles, necrophiles, and bestophiles. You are reaching for something that is not there -- I ponder why that is?
