I would be really shocked if this was Blackwater. Those guys don't F around and are made up of many spec ops, specialized millitary personell. Odds are this was some other company handling less sensitive security matters such as infrastructure or individuals. ROFL. Make no mistake these guys are good and motivated but don't believe ALL their PR. I know one Gunny who works for them that spent 8 of his 12 in recruiting. Another is a former tube artillery officer.

Let me simplify it for you. In war, we don't win every engagement. To win a war, you generally have to win most of them. We generally do just that. Taking these hostages is an individual defeat in a vast sea of victories.
When the kidnappers are found, and they will indeed be found, they should be eviscerated.
Have another mimosa.

No, it's supposed to be happy, happy, joy, joy with goodie news from the media all the time. We can't think for ourselves and must be spoonfed cnn's pablum as to what to think.

I'm thinking that this 'security firm' employed a lot of non-Iraqi arabs from Syria, Yemen, SA, Iran, etc.
And the 'masked gunmen' were Iraq sequrity.
p.s. the CAPLOCKS key is right below the tab key and right above the shift key.

Vast sea of victories? Okay, if you want to believe that, be my guest. "More good news from Iraq" and all that, you know.

The Nazis looked pretty strong in the Battle of the Bulge, but in fact it was a last-ditch desperation attack. The enemy in Iraq is doing their own Battle of the Bulge - the increased desperation is apparent in their choices of targets and methods. Obviously IEDs aren't doing the job for them, even when it's Iranian military explosives.

Well there are 50 openings in that company now because their bodies will start turning up soon.

I do hope this wasn't inspired by Monday night's episode of '24'.
Lot of Iraqi terrorist fans of the show, are there? ;-)

None of the American or Brit companies screw around over there that is probably why they went after an Iraqi security company.

I went to Luxembourg recently - they love Americans and treat anyone who fought in WWII like a hero. They remember the Bulge. It was a brutal battle. whenever people moan about American involvement in WWII I remind them of that rearguard action and the lives lost.
Sign from WWII 'You can be German, you can be Christian, but you cannot be both'. Most surprised to see it in one of the museums there.
kind regards

What does linking the story have to do with my comment?
I told that poster that "you must sell ice cubes to Eskimos for a living" relating to the fact this poster is trying to sell us on the idea that the violence is on its last leg and the terrorists are ready to call it quits.
I, of course, think that is bull. This nation will be in chaos for eternity or until some iron-handed dictator rules again. These people are not stable or sane enough to have a peaceful, democratic society, nor have they shown the passion and desire to win their own nation back from internal terrorists.
