You want some cheese with your port whine?

Democrats must be absolutely jubilant that they got away with spinning this deal in a way that both fractures the Republican party and weakens the President.

Agreed. We're lucky that the Dims aren't smart enough to do this on a regular basis - this was a clear win for them.

"Bigotry is the more accepted term."

If only 10 percent of Muslims want to kill Americans, that's still 180,000,000 in favor.

The only issue is that Boeing and Airbus don't equal or equalize.

Both have different planes and few match up exactly for what an airline needs.

The A380 will seat hundreds more than a 747.

Airbus has no two engine plane that matches up against the 777.

The A350 is to compete against the 787, but its now been pushed back another year from rollout, and airlines know Airbust is claiming performance numbers for the A350 they will never be able to deliver.

Emirates will end up buying the planes that best suits their needs. Too do otherwise would be moronic as a business operator.

The actions of our representatives in Washington this past week was disgusting the way they treated one of our most friendliest and useful ally's...the UAE, and it's going to take a lot of hard work on our part to get them to trust the U.S. again, if they ever do.

I still stand firm in my belief that the Democrats had a plan since algore lost the election in 2000. It was to destroy President Bush and the Republican Party by any means necessary, whether it be fair or fowl, and little by little they've chipped away at our unity. In 2004 when kerry also lost, much to their dismay, they saw it necessary to step their plan up into a higher gear, and looking at the shattered condition of the Republican Party today, they're winning. Not only are they dragging some of our representatives in Washington along with them with their mantra "tell a lie often enough and it will eventually be believed", there are many here on Free Republic who have fallen into the trap and have started to believe the lies also.

I've never seen the Republican Party in such disarray as it is today and it's time for everyone to take a step back, take a deep breath and look at whats happening before it's too late and we've handed the WH and control back to the rats on the left on a silver platter. Every greasy lie the left has attempted to put on the Presidents shoulders in time has proven to be exactly that .....a lie. They haven't been able to make one stick.

Our backs are up against the wall and the next few months are going to be a crucial time for us and if it means we have to lower ourselves and play their game of dirty politics we now have no other choice but to play the same game.

Some here think the most important problem is the open borders, others think it's the excessive spending, I agree both problems are humongous but it's my belief that stopping the democrats should be the first thing on the agenda.

Our troops are fighting a war in Iraq but there is also a war to be fought here at home and we must not lose. Don't let the example of the sin against the UAE slip into the shadows, let it be a reminder that we must dig in, unite and fight. Our troops are winning their war, so lets back them up and win ours here at home too.

Wake up Republicans before time runs out and we lose everything the United States has stood for. ' Tear down this Wall', unite and ' Win one for the Gipper'.

How do you distinguish those who do from those who don't? Or do you kill them all and let God sort it out.

If Republicans are going to govern just like Democrats (huge amounts of deficit spending, out of control borders, idiotic decisions in the WOT), what's the point?

And just exactly what have you done to try an rectify the matter?

By reading your posting history I'd have to say 'nothing but sit back and complain'.

You're all talk (interpret as complain) and no action.

I didn't go back that far but by all appearances you've been 'anti-Bush' from the start.

You don't kill them all and let God sort it out. But I err on the side of vigilance and skepticism.

Islam is a political sytem as well as a religion; in general, it does not promote freedom.

This is an aside from the port deal, which I have come to believe wasn't a security threat. However, as to Islam, I'd recommend reading something from a well educated ex-Muslim, Dr Ali Sina, or Ibn Warraq:

http://www.faithfreedom.org/Articles/sina/why_i_left_islam.htm

"I vehemently reject any recognition of Islam as a legitimate religion and call for its total denunciation and ban. If seventy years ago someone called for total denunciation of Nazism, he probably would have been called an extremist, yet a decade later everyone adopted that view. Should we not learn from history? Evil must be rejected completely and without reservation."- Dr Ali Sina

It's not mixing politics with business. It's mixing business with trying to save our behinds from getting blown to some Islamic hell or getting videotaped while some masked primitive cuts our heads off with his ginsu knife.

Well, they already operate cargo and passenger terminals at JFK airport.

Haven't heard congress or the A-rabs-are-taking-control-of-our-ports crowd shrieking about that.

It doesn't matter who manages it as long as they adhere to the rules and regulations the OWNER has set forth.

I don't think you're really clear on cargo operations.
