They're floating the "get prepared balloon". I have nausea after reading this. When is enough going to be enough and we form an aggressive revolt against these traitors? It certainly isn't working at the ballet box.

"Kennedy told the committee the proposal was not an amnesty"

Kennedy's brain is so pickled he doesn't know what he's saying. I doubt he even recognizes his own name anymore without a prompt from someone when he's addressed.

If what he proposes isn't amnesty.....would someone clue me in what is.

Kennedy needs to be given a sobriety test before he's ever allowed to open his mouth.

Any guest worker program that doesn't require applicants to return to their country of origin to apply is AN AMNESTY.

These politicos KNOW that. They are being obtuse on purpose.

We fought a revolutionary war for less than this.

We don't need a 3rd party, we need to start over.

Kennedy told the committee the proposal was not an amnesty. People seeking legal status would have to pay a $2,000 fine, apply for a six-year temporary status, have a job, pay taxes, learn English and show an understanding of U.S. government.

And at the end of six years, Senator? What then? Congress and the President won't get rid of the ones that are here illegally already. So, how do you propose to send them back in in six year?

Senator, we know they aren't going back in six years, so, yes, Senator, it IS amnesty. You are just not calling it amnesty.

The rino's are finally coming home to roost. These people don't have a clue about how the public thinks about this issue.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, quipped that the requirements "probably exclude half of my family."

Graham supposedly made a comment to a group recently that we need illegals so the greens fees (at the golf courses) won't go up.

As much as I hate amnesty or any other name for it, can anyone give the best solution for ridding 15 million illegals already here?

This is not only a kick in the teeth to all American citizens it's also kicking the legal immigrants too. They have to pay periodically to keep their status here legal. Once again the 'Illegals' get the better of the deal.

First we need to close the d**m borders with whatever it takes. Arm the NG and put them down there shoulder to shoulder to stop anyone coming in while a nationwide sweep is made and make everyone prove they're here legally. Deport all illegals immediately, no excuses excepted. Once that's completed and only then the border can be opened on a limited basis.
This is war against America and it's time the Washington idiots realized that.

When I was little,I remember my stepfather was watching the news. When the politicians came on,he called them whores. When I asked him what he meant,he replied, they all sleep together.Things haven't changed much and that was a long time ago.

BS...If you have to explain that it isn't amnesty then it must have such convoluted language that it appears to be amnesty. Or it is amnesty. How hard is it to say, "we will close the borders to illegals, we will enforce it, you will be stopped" to illegals?

Senators near compromise on immigration reform

Maybe this isn't a bad thing. Sensenbrenner has already publicly stated McKennedy is dead in the House so let the Senate pass it. Even though Kyl/Cornyn is almost as bad that probably stood a better chance of getting through so most likely when it's all over we'll get what the vast majority of us want, an enforcement only bill.

This whole scenario makes me sick at my stomach.

This is pure BS.

I for one will never vote for any politician who sells us down the river.

What the hell are these smug elitists idiots in the senate thinking about.

The RINO's are selling us out for campaign donations.

Damn this just makes me SICK.

They would not get permanent status faster than the three million foreigners awaiting legal entry, he said.

"There is no moving to the front of the line, there is no free ticket," Kennedy said. "This is not amnesty."

This is not going to work, either. 12 million illegals are going to voluntarily do all this? Sure, sure. And why should they? Without complete control of the borders, and a credible threat to deport all of them, what stops them from doing just what they are doing and have always done, ignore the current law, much less this unworkable nonsense? Silly, to even discuss it.

We heard this loud and clear the last time, when Reagan signed the immigration reform you dreamed up last time. (Barf)

Any Kennedy-McCain plan, by definition, cannot be any good. I'm very, very skeptical.
