I don't approve of Brokeback Mountain, but I think some people are fooling themselves that it was a flop. It's made $81 million so far on a budget of $14 million. I don't think this is going to scare studios from making more homosexual movies. That much monet, closing in on $100 million, is not a flop in any way. And now the studios will figure that the first one took the flack, each successive movie will be more accepted. I hate to say it, but Brokeback was a huge success for the homosexual movement.

I think it may be the opposite. Sort of like a tv show that gets a lot of hype for being "cutting edge", and everyone turns in because of curiosity to see the first night - but bombs out after the first episode.
I think a lot of people went to see Brokeback because of curiousity about the "gay" movie.
