IS RASMUSSEN'S CENSURE POLL ON FR?(MSM & FNC: #s bad for Bush, good for Feingold)
3-18-06 | self

Posted on 03/18/2006 6:04:30 AM PST by txrangerette

I keep hearing about a Rasmussen poll on censuring the President. The media blabbers are excitedly reporting that 36% of U.S. *adults"(yeah, I know) WANT the President censured, while 45% do not.

Which does seem negative for the President because it would seem the numbers are closer than most would expect. 18% of self-identified Republicans want censure, according to the reports, and I forget the % of Dems and Indies but of course it is pretty high to get the yes total.

One thing missing from the reports is much emphasis on what issue the censure was proposed, namely, wiretapping suspected foreign terrorists who call someone in America. Other polls have shown very high support for the NSA program. I'm wondering if the idiots from the poll even know what this is about.

BUT MY MAIN REASON FOR THIS POST IS TO ASK, HAS THIS POLL BEEN POSTED ON FR? I LOOKED AND LOOKED AND HAVE NOT FOUND IT. IF IT'S HERE, I'M SURE I'LL BE MADE TO LOOK CLUELESS AND INEPT IN A NANOSECOND...

What say you, FReepers? Where is Rasmussen's censure poll? I'm not making a value judgment on whether it should or shouldn't be here, no matter if it's not here, or if it is. I'm just looking for some answers.

I wish they would take a poll on how many Americans even know what the word censure means . I'd be willing say that it would be in the mid to high %90's of people who have no clue as to what censure even means .These polls are unreal.

I didn't think censure was going to happen. This hasn't anything to do with your point. And if I go to Rasmussen's website, will THAT tell me if it is posted on FR? DUH...of course not. If you bothered to read and understand my post, I doubt you'd have posted your beside-the-point reply, methinks.

I thought the figure shown on FNC last night was 38% in favor of censure.

You don't know how much people were told about the censure proposal or what censure means...since 48% of the voters voted against Bush in 2004 (most of them voting against Bush rather than for Kerry), it's not surprising they could get 38% to say they liked the idea of censure if all it meant to them was "I don't like Bush."

The problem for the administration is that they can't say very much about the NSA program without possibly revealing information of value to the terrorists...whereas considerations of that sort don't bother the media or the Democrats.

I'm not looking for his website, but thanks anyway. I want to know if anyone posted it on FR. Looks like the answer is no, just by the fact that I couldn't find it and nobody will show me that it has.

I thought it was 36% but you could be right. Anyway, the difference between that and 38% is very negligible. I know this is a split country, politically, but just because someone doesn't like or support the President shouldn't automatically put them in the yes column on censure. Unless, as has been alluded to, many people really don't know what they are talking about when it comes to this, and they just automatically answer yes if they don't like the President.

That's more than just "his website," it links to his summary of the poll results.

I agree that it seems not to have been published as a stand-alone article here at FR.

They can stick all their stupid polls where the sun does not shine. The media manipulates them to get the results that they want.

Polls I've seen show a lot of support for the NSA surveillance program. That's one reason I wonder if people even know that Feingold wants censure because of the President's terrorist eavesdropping program. The media mentions the reason he wants censure as little as possible. And I don't think that's an accident...

It's been mentioned... but it wasn't 'showcased'. But the numbers favoring censure are chilling... and do not bode well for November. The MSM has sunk this president numbers more than any action taken by Democrats... fabrications and falsehoods were allowed to stand unchallenged.

Your problem is one of self will out of control.

You are wasting your ,and our time, mouthing this thing to death under the self-deception that you, somehow have control of it. That is the nub of your perceptual pathology.

You are nuts.

Give it up.

Adults over 18 were polled. Many of these people are almost too ignorant to breath, and most of the ignorant don't like President Bush. Even fewer would understand the meaning behind a proposal to censure him. Appalling.

One of the lefties on that site posted and boasted about being THE Inspector of Elections in a precint in PA and was praising mail-in ballots. If it's true, I know what that so called " inspector " is going to do to the Republican mail-in ballots .

Why don't you post the poll yourself?
