What's the point in posting things like this?

I didn't post it...It is a good indicator on how in touch with society Hollywood is.

I can't imagine any point in reading 20 newspapers a day. It's the same day's news over and over. All the press service and syndicated stuff is the same.

Belzer must have a lot of bird cages to line.

In a condescending way, Belzer claimed he was much more informed than any US soldier because they don't read "twenty newspapers a day" like he apparently claims to do.

That would be like negative knowledge on the war. You'd know less about what's really going on by reading 20 newspapers.

According to Wikipedia. Belzer constantly got kicked out of schools because he was the class comic.
He dropped out of junior college. Went into the Army and did not like it. Tried to get out, but was unable too. So after being released from the Army he began to get work as a stand up comic.
Sounds like he's a real rocket scientist! bwahahahahaha.
Another Hollywierd elitist with no academic credentials!

What i don't understand is why Belzer cares about the educational background of soldiers and why he spouted off about it in the first place. They aren't there cheerleading for the war. They are there on orders and fighting as they are trained to do. They aren't advocates. So his rant is baseless because it irrelevant. He'd have a point if soldiers were coming back and acting as advocates for the war.

DId anyone on the panel ask him if took the time to go to iraq to see for himself instead of reading biased papers?

We had a big party last week for our son's homecoming, and this very liberal astronomy professor came.

His quote to me.....

"Well, he was only in the green zone."

Which was untrue anyway.........reminds me of this actor twit.

I will. I'm awfully proud of him. If I ever meet this Belzer character (and the odds are against it), I may spit on him.

Tammy Bruce nailed it when she said liberalism is narcissism.

Some obscure "comedian" says something idiotic and we are supposed to talk about it?

Yes.

That puerile obscure comedians such as Mahrer and friends have a national platform and are taken seriously is a horrible example of how weak we are as a nation.

Question: Why would someone like Richard Belzer say such nasty things about the Army protecting this great country that allows him to spend as much for dinner as most of make in a day/week?

http://www.therant.us/staff/cherry/whenever_an_american_soldier_loses_his_life_a_liberal_gets_his_wings.htm

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Belzer

which leads to:

http://belzer.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_belzer_archive.html

So, Rick was beaten by his mother, dropped out of junior college (an Ivy League JC perhaps?) then went on to become a bed-wetting Section 8 loser---who hates the Army.

Before the the internet we might have been left scratching our heads . . . .

They'll be the biggest whiners if their freedom is ever taken away, too.

This just proves what an idiot Belzer is, and how truly ignorant he is of history. Without people like our troops in Iraq fighting and dying for freedom, it's loud mouths like Belzer who would be the first ones to lose their freedoms!

Belzer doesn't just think that soldiers are stupid, he thinks all Americans are stupid:

BELZER: "Well, Americans are stupid. They have to hear it over and over and over—"[applause]" From Real Time with Bill Maher episode #42 where he appeared as guests with Kevin Costner and Wesley Clark. Ann Coulter appeared via satellite and after she signed off Belzer attacked her in a spittle flying rage:

BELZER: "She’s a repugnant person who says the most vile things. She lies. She’s a liar and you know that. You just confronted her on ten different things. I mean, come on, man! Some people, you have to call them for what they are."

He went on to say: "I’ll tell you where it started. It started with Reagan in 1988, in his last year, when Bush was getting ready to take over. They started doing this thing about liberals, and saying that liberals were these seedy, scary people. Reagan actually did a line about, “The liberals have their trenchcoats on again and they’re flashing us.” They just started attacking, and this is what – you know, it’s like red baiting. “Liberals.” John Kennedy was a liberal. FDR was a liberal. All the great social programs are liberal">
