Does this sound like lunacy to anyone else? Attack a sampan, yes. Attack a cruise ship, probably yes. Attack the US Navy, guides missile cruiser or other, definitely not. Might be construed as an 'act of war'. Results could be disastrous.

I gather many of us would have liked to see a bit of overkill here. The Harpoon was too expensive. But what would it cost for just a couple of 5 inch rounds?
It sounds like the US wants prisoners. You never know who could be on board.

Agreed, Kerry would be just like Carter if he got elected, trying to negotiate instead of acting for a year! while the hostages rotted in Iran.
Only thing stopping another 9-11 is the fear of OUR God GW has instilled in our muslim friends.
