There is absolutely no way to objectively evaluate their accuracyThere is no way to obtain a representative sample. Intelligent mature people know this and are unavailable or refuse to answer.
Thank you for posting the Dose today.

"Dubya sure does have a thing for bald headed men....LOL
Hi mystery. Yeah, he sure does. It's funny. Men and boys, BTW."
I think he just has a thing for rubbing bald heads - which seem to be more on men than women.
He is a toucher anyway - probably loves that feeling. It's always a benign gesture, too.

Why on earth would I change my political views because of what other people think?Good for you. Too bad more people don't have the courage of their convictions. Heck! Too bad more people don't have convictions.
As for polls:
1) I want to know where in the Constitution the term "presidential approval rating" appears.
2) I want to know where in the Constitution is says that a president must govern according to "presidential approval ratings." Last I looked, the presidential oath -- the only oath enshrined in our Constitution -- goes as follows:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
3) Although the news media sells a somewhat useful product, it long ago tossed aside the notion that it should assist the American public in understanding our government. It also long ago tossed aside any genuine neutrality on almost any subject (see the media question I posted near the top of today's thread).
4) Polls are merely a way for the media to reinforce the messages the media, itself, tries to pound into the public consciousness. They create a theme, pound away at it, then publish biased polls to show how the majority supposedly agrees with their point of view.

It works for me but as far as my family is concerned, the polls tell them what they want to hear. Whatever makes them happy. I don't need polls to tell me what to believe.

Hi STARWISE. Wasn't that a couple of weeks ago? That's when my PC hard drive crashed. I remember looking forward to posting a retrospect of that trip and was so disappointed I couldn't do it.

It really aggravates me that some people change their minds every time the wind blows. There's nothing wrong with changing your mind if you realize you're wrong but some people just have no convictions whatsoever.

As Wolfstar says The polls are a scam. Don't imply that there is any validity to them at all.

There's nothing wrong with changing your mind if you realize you're wrong but some people just have no convictions whatsoever. You are so right. In my experience, most people don't take the time to learn about a topic in enough depth to form their own conclusions, so they just go with whatever the flow seems to be at the moment.
