But not everyone is convinced encouraging women to carry a gun is a good idea. According to the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, it's at least 20 times more likely that you'll use your weapon to shoot someone in your home rather than using it to protect yourself from an intruder.

The assumption that correlation = causation is damning to any kind of reasoning. It's a shame (but not surprising) to see that it went unchallenged here.

It's not just that, but IIRC the study lumped anybody you knew into the "shoot someone in the home" category, which would include enemy gang members and the crackhead down the street you know breaking into your house. IOW, the definitions turned self defense into shooting a friend.

Indeed, given that this is from the MSM with a tradition of bogus statistics plus an inability to understand logical argument.
