Not only that, but he hit her and she was scared for her life. bastard.
First thought I had as well. If she believed he was abusing one or more of the daughters, it could have pushed her over the edge.
That was MY thought, too. It wouldn't surprise me at all if that turns out to be the case.
Maybe he has fiddling with the organist. ;)
If that's true, she'd have a good chance of getting the charge reduced to voluntary manslaughter. Indeed, if it's true, I doubt she'd be getting charged with murder I.

Prediction: I suspect the same thing, sitting here in Tennessee as I type this.
I have said this before, and I'll say it once more: In certain cultures it is okay to rape your daughter, granddaughter, nieces, and daughter-in-laws; but don't drink alcoholic beverages, you'll go to HELL for that!!!
I know this from personal experience with my first husband's family. The meanest danged people I ever encountered were the Bible thumpers -- and they ALL were covering up a guilty conscience.
In the absence of any evidence, I prefer to wait and see.
At this point, just about any reason is as plausable as any other. I am firmly in favor of removing child molesters from the gene pool, but as a man with a daughter I resent the assumption that he is one because his sweet looking wife killed him.
Many, many years ago I got pretty involved with an attractive woman that did a very good job of hiding the fact that she was wacko. As a matter of fact, years later she ruined her ex husband (along with his wife's career as a teacher) by painting him as a child molester. Which was later proved to be completely false. Much too late for him.
