Thousands line Phoenix street in protest march

Thousands of supporters of immigrant rights march to the office of U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl in Phoenix. Many said they were most incensed by what they see as punitive immigration reform proposals, especially one approved by the House in December that would make unlawful presence in the United States a felony.

(Phoenix, Arizona-AP) March 24, 2006 - One of the protesters in a big march in Phoenix says immigrants are "here for the American Dream."

Police estimate at least 10,000 people joined the rally calling for more "humane" changes to immigration laws.

A 50-year-old resident of the city says the punitive measures being eyed on Capitol Hill are "racist." He says, "You're not going to find terrorists outside a Home Depot looking for a job."

The protesters marched to US Senator Jon Kyl's office. He's sponsoring an immigration bill.

In Georgia, activists say thousands of workers took part in a work stoppage Friday to protest a measure passed by the state House Thursday.

It would deny state services to illegal immigrants and impose charges on their wire money transfers.

About 200 protesters gathered on the steps of the Georgia Capitol. Some had Mexican flags and others carried signs reading: "Don't panic, we're Hispanic."

I agree. Any student of history knows that this is how all great cultures fell. When language and culture becomes polluted and exploited the end is near.

Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's. Jesus trumps clawrence3 in my Bible.

This may also apply: Proverbs 17:15 Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent— the LORD detests them both.

I'm with you pal.I live in Union City NJ , I'm a real minority here. I grew up here and now I'm the outsider , a white boy . Half this town's population are not citizens. Some illegals even have jobs in the local government . The schools are beyond overcrowded , half the teachers have trouble speaking English . It's a real mess here .

As I was reading this thread, I was thinking the same.

It's the way of the world my friend. our PC culture and ultra liberal media will be the downfall of America. I doubt we'd recognize this country 10/15 years from now.

I am crushed, you posted this to me on another thread today. I guess you cut and paste and here I thought it was a personal reply, WAIT..many of your posts are the same as those you posted on the other thread. You should go back to your handlers for new talking points, you have used these up.

Haha. He's off for the weekend, it seems. His job description doesn't include working overtime, it seems. He'll be back at work bright and early Monday morning. Prepare to be spammed with more nonsense then.

Yes, in general, we should help those who are in need. But as citizens of the United States we are supposed to report criminals and not help them. They're breaking our laws. I fully support immigrants who come here legally. Just not ones who come illegally.

BTW- In school we always HATED kids who would cut in line to get stuff. But in real life we're supposed to support and help them. I feel sorry for those law-abiding Mexicans waiting, I don't how long, to get in America while their brothers are flaunting everyone and every law.

I wish my mouse were working right so I could copy and paste what I'm replying to. But, about no insurance.... About 12 years ago we were turning left when a car came speeding out of nowhere and slammed into us. By law my husband was at fault because it was a left hand turn. So he was cited one ticket. The other people were cited with no insurance, no registration, no carseat, speeding and a few other things. They lied about who was driving. Then had the nerve to have a lawyer sue our insurance for damages. When the insurance company found out they were lying about who was driving, the company countersued. Whatever happened we noticed the accident was not on our insurance record.

I bet it just warms your heart to see foreign nationals in our streets demanding that we change our laws.

Give them the soup then send them the hell back .

They get treated very well by the INS, or ICE or whatever the agency is called today. The problem is they can be back here in a day or two, since the top level of our government wants that border as wide open as possible.

It is the death of our culture. It is sickening to watch the United States become just another third world $hithole. I'd rather pay $10.00 for a head of lettuce or grow my own than to watch this country be taken over by another culture but it's too late. Our corrupt government has sold the American people down the river.

Did you know it's against the law in Mexico for ANY foreigner to protest? What do you think about that?

You are EXACTLY right, however, few are listening. It is AGAINST THE LAW for a foreigner living, working or visiting Mexico to comment on politics. What hypocrisy by those living here illegally to be in our streets protesting. We are going to have a war. The ONLY way to avoid war is to turn the country over to them. So, guess what is going to inevitably happen.

Well, much to my chagrin, the Catholic church aids and abets illegal aliens.

Yes they do. In Waco, TX, the catholic church sponsors a visit by the Mexican Consulate every few months to assist illegal aliens in obtaining indentification cards. They provide space, tables, electricty, etc. to help the program go forward. They've been doing this for years and if they stop suddenly, it will only be because someone read it here. I know some other things and depending upon ugly comments made, will post that information here as well. Also, I am sick and tired of catholics on here calling me a bigot for writing the truth. Maybe it's time to settle all of this once and for all. I do NOT want to live with this dishonesty and attempt to subjugate our nation to that culture and religion -- I don't care what the cost is anymore.
