I'm an equal opportunity hater. My loathing of Teddy has never diminished and as a matter of fact, after the Kerry nomination increased.
The Kennedy loathing extends beyond Kerry to the entire state of Massachuttes population for inflicting America with such trash.

Well, for my part, there are a number of graves I am looking forward to dancing upon, and his is just one.

Ditto. I've loathed that entire family since the '60 election. And nothing has ever occurred to change my mind. Their family photo has the honor of appearing at three separate definitions in the dictionary: dysfunctional, pomposity, and sociopath.

Consider Teddy Bare: The Last of the Kennedy Clan, a 1971 screed by Zad RustScreed is an interesting word. For me it has all sorts of negative connotations, yet I seem to be imagining things. Consider this MW definition. The OED does use harrangue in one of its definitions, but on the whole their definition is not so negative as my impression and what I think the writer of this piece meant when he charaterized Teddy Bare as a "screed."
I have the book by me as I type. I hadn't looked at it in years, so today I just opened it at random to several places. All I saw was a recitation of facts and quotes/transcripts from other sources. I would prefer to call Teddy Bare a "history."

When the state is run by a guy whose brother is a psychopathic killer and the church is run by pedeophiles, it is not a place of much hope.

I will never forget when my dad finished the last page of Teddy Bare, btw. White with rage--something I had never seen before or since--he handed me the book. Read this, he said.
I found a copy of "Senatorial Privilege" by Leo Damore in a used book store a few months ago. I felt the same rage your father did after reading it. Not the same as I did with reading the Swift Boat book about JfinK, but rage none the less. How insane for people to still vote for him after Chappaquidick is just beyond me.

Boy, this thread is becoming perilously close to what we see at DU, especially those comments above from the poster about Sirhan Sirhan. As much as I detest the Kennedys, I don't think advocating assasination is a good tack.
And, by the way, Billy Bulger doesn't run the state anymore...he retired years ago. He was as crooked as they come, though, in my opinion.

A screed is a polemic dismissed as futile invective. However I rather doubt that Adam Reilly has bothered to read Teddy Bare.

Well, the dead voters probably don't care....

A screed is a polemic dismissed as futile invective. Well, your definition is much closer to my understanding than what I found at the sources I cited. Do you know of any standard reference which gives a definition like this?

As anti-Kennedy animus goes the way of the dodo... This article is pure b.s. The only dodo here is Adam Reilly.

I'm not advocating assassination, arrests maybe, but not assassination. I believe the problems of Massachusetts can be traced to corruption on an unimaginable scale. If a GOP candidate gets 37 percent and thinks he's doing good, something stinks.

Not off the top of my head. A book on political rhetoric?
The clinton spinmeisters were pros at this. The impeached POS was a smooth liar, while his underlings used loaded words like "screed" and "scheme" (remember the Gore/Kemp debate?) to debase the opposition.

No doubt, Massachusetts politics is as corrupt as any in the nation. It is an embarrassment to have Kennedy, Kerry, Frank, et al as the face of my state.
Kennedy should have gone to jail and been kicked out of politics after Chappaquiddick. I just re-read "Senatorial Privilege" last month. How sad that is.
