CAIRO, Egypt - A former Democratic senator and 9/11 commissioner says a recently declassified Iraqi account of a 1995 meeting between Osama bin Laden and a senior Iraqi envoy presents a "significant set of facts," and shows a more detailed collaboration between Iraq and Al Qaeda.
In an interview yesterday, the current president of the New School University, Bob Kerrey, was careful to say that new documents translated last night by ABC News did not prove Saddam Hussein played a role in any way in plotting the attacks of September 11, 2001.

It conflicts with Democrat propaganda--which to the Left is truth even if it is untrue. To the Left, truth is whatever you can make enough people believe--or make yourself believe--that is, as long as it serves the Leftist agenda.
After being dragged kicking and screaming into wakefulness. Snort.

The MSM is only interested in fake, but accurate documents. They are not interested in real and accurate documents; especially those which disembowel their three year mantra of 'no connection between Saddam and al Qaeda'.
Maybe these people are in a paralyzing fear that if and when a solid connection is made to Saddam and these terrorists somebody else is going to be OUTED.
Now what does it say when we find out that somebody within US Command was sending the Russians our military plans, which were promptly passed on to old Saddam?

Exactly right. If you notice, liberals are always moving the goalposts. For three years, they've been saying ... there's no connection between Saddam and Osama. Saddam was a secularist, Osama was a fanatical Muslim. Now it's ... well, there was a connection, BUT there's no proof they conspired to cause 9/11.
And then after it's proven they did conspire to cause 9/11, they'll say ... yeah, well Saddam didn't fly the planes himself.

Saddam Hussein's regime was in cahoots with the terrorists.
Particularly, considering in the past Matthews has held the former senator in very high esteem. :)
They had a cup of tea together and talked about the good old times. Doesnt prove anything.
Give me a few minutes and I will post that front page NY Times article about the documents.... I know I have it here somewhere... now where is that article???
