If the framers intended the current wall of seperation would they have opened congress with a prayer by a chaplain.

Oppression, violence and hatred thrive where there is not sufficient seperation between the religious beliefs of a populace and the practice of that nations law (Iran and Saudi Arabia come to mind).

Religious beliefs are wonderful, PERSONAL things...but they are just that, Beliefs. Jesus is great I'm sure, but I sure wouldn't want him as President.

His [Jefferson's] contempt for the religious elite who controlled both the civil and religious aspects in Virginia was epitomized in his comment concerning Calvin, which he wrote to John Adams:

I can never join Calvin in addressing his god. He was indeed an Atheist, which I can never be; or rather his religion was Daemonism. If ever man worshipped a false god, he did. The being described in his 5 points is not the God whom you and I acknowledge and adore, the Creator and benevolent governor of the world…

It's a HUGE (probably 20K words) article, but appears to be well-worth reading.

Anyone notice just how creepy silent the left was at st. Hillry's demand to protect Jesus legislation?

Proof positive these liberals know darn well the wall is of their own making and it goes up and comes down when they see fit.
