Kerry and Producer do Battle for Honor
New York Times ^ | March 27, 2006 | Sara Ivry

Posted on 03/28/2006 3:49:59 AM PST by Peach

When Senator John F. Kerry set up a legal defense fund last month to fight a civil suit charging him with conspiracy and defamation, he called it the "Fund for Truth and Honor." The name seems to tweak the title of "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal," a 2004 documentary that criticized Mr. Kerry for his activities in the early 1970's in Vietnam Veterans Against the War. Carlton Sherwood, the journalist and Marine veteran who produced the film, and the Vietnam Veterans Legacy Foundation filed the lawsuit in October in federal court in Philadelphia. The suit accuses Mr. Kerry and an aide of campaigning to stop the Sinclair Broadcasting Group from showing "Stolen Honor" and of trying to injure Mr. Sherwood's business and reputation. "If there's one lesson we learned from 2004, it's how much the right wing is willing to spend to attack John Kerry's honor," said David Wade, a spokesman for Mr. Kerry. "We want to set up some mechanism so that if this gets very expensive, you have some means of fighting back." Mr. Sherwood said this fight was nonpartisan. "This is a personal thing. It has nothing at all to do with his politics," he said. He called it an effort to make Mr. Kerry answer for having "defamed and excoriated hundreds of thousands of men, some of them killed in action, just for his own political future."

"There was supposed to be a documentary coming out that highlighted the ineptness of Kerry during his campaign but I never saw anything about after it was announced. "

The documentary you speak about was bought by a small firm in Arkansas and if I recall, it will be played in theatres across the US in early 2008.

For those who "forgot" what Hanoi Kerry
did in the past read on and learn the truth.

Hanoi Kerry was still a USNR officer while he:
gave false hearsay testimony to Congress
negotiated with the enemy
helped the US lose a war
abetted in the deaths of millions
created a hostile environment for all servicemen

What the Hell would John F. Kerry know about honor? or even duty? Something that is abandoned for personal or political gain?

If Hanoi Kerry was an honorable military man I would think he'd produce his military records as he's proclaimed in the past. Setting up a legal defense fund is a pretty good indication of guilt

I believe this is a matter of semantics for the Senator from Cambodia. He did sign the form and had his records released, yet refuses to disclose everything that he received.
He let the Boston Globe peek at docs he deemed important and they glossed over the issue as if were in the past.
The one thing I cannot figure out is how John Lehman, , the former Secretary of the Navy and member of the 9/11 Commission appears to be the signature on one of the purple hearts. He served under Reagan!!

We can only hope that Hanoi John will be fully exposed. But the ba*tard seems to always slime around things and get away with his falsehoods. It would be great to see him get hammered with the truth.

Let us not forget that Hanoi john started the baby killer hate speech against Vietnam vets and kept many of from getting jobs because who wants to hire a baby killer.

Kerry has not proved he served in Viet Nam and if he did he may have signed his own Purple heart papers.

"The Kerry he doth protest too much" (my apologies to Shakespere). The more he proclaims his honor the more we know he has none.

He did sign the form and had his records released...

In a shell game, con man sort of way, technically he signed a 180. But then he didn't submit it to the national records archives where his complete file is. The jerk just sent it to the Navy, who already only had what Kerry had vetted long before.

He hasn't even coughed up his DD214 for cripes sake!

Nothing more than a shell game that will destroy him in the end.

I wish I were as optimistic in Jenjis John having this blow up in his face but he will always get a free pass from the lamestream.
He must be held to account if he is to run again. It will have to be the alternative media that dogs him if McLame's bill doesn't stifle voices like ours.
