A Day in the Life of President Bush - (photos) - 3.28.06

This morning, President Bush announced from the Oval Office at the White House, the resignation of long time friend, and 5 year Chief of Staff, Andrew Card, and the appointment of Josh Bolten, director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, to that position. Later, following a Cabinet Meeting, the President made a statement in the Rose Garden, surrounded by Cabinet members, about the progress in the government of Iraq, and the commitment of his administration to work with their counterparts in Iraq in the future.

In news of significance to all conservatives, both Lyn Nofziger (81), Reagan press secretary, and Caspar Weinberger (88), Reagan's Secretary of Defense, died in the past 24 hours. Both men served with distinction and will be missed.

The last book I truly adored was The Kite Runner; one of the best books I've read in a long time.

I have been tempted to buy it many times when making my weekly run to the bookstore, but for some reason I never did. Perhaps I will now that you recommend it so highly.

I'd better make sure dinner is all ready for when my husband walks in the door. He was poll managing today for a referendum question and left the house at 6:00 and will be home shortly and hungry.

Night all.

You're so right. Andy was right in the middle of the instant decision making and leadership that the President showed in those early hours.

I'll give him a little time off and expect his book in a year or so. :)

Oh, we NEED congressional term limits SO badly!

Agreed, but I just don't see it ever happening. From city halls all the way up to Congress, too many modern politicans see their elective offices as lifetime careers. I don't see Congress ever voting against their own selfish interests and in favor of a Constitutional amendment to limit their own terms.

Be prepared to be angry a lot reading Strategery, Peach.

The behavior of the left, clearly outlined by Sammon is enfuriating. I had to keep putting it down to cool off.

Good read, though. REALLY good. (Is your birthday soon??)

Andy was right in the middle of the instant decision making and leadership that the President showed in those early hours.

He was the man who informed the President on that morning that "America is under attack."

Yes...........pictured in post #1 (or 2?).

I thought it fitting under the circumstances to remind people of his significance to this President and to this nation.

See now.........THAT's the problem. Congress never polices or controls itself.

How do we accomplish it?

***So I've been re-reading some older books and loving them.***

Me, too! I even found some old (35 years or so) Mary Stewart books and enjoyed every one of them.
