Oh, well, better luck next time - and here's your lovely parting gift.
Many thanks for the tar pots. You'll find an extra little something in your next pay envelope, for being so speedy.
having too much "fun" on an illegal-alien/supporting insurrection thread
56. Based on the new findings, it is now clear that the VX programme began at least as early as May 1985 and continued without interruption until December 1990. The Commission has concluded that VX was produced on an industrial scale. Precursor and agent storage and stabilization problems were solved. Furthermore, one of Iraq's documents on this subject, dated 1989, proposes "the creation of strategic storage of the substance (VX - hydrochloride, one step from conversion into VX) so it can be used at any time if needed".
57. Significant in this context is Iraq's admission, in September 1995, of the production in 1990 of 65 tonnes of choline, a chemical used exclusively for the production of VX. This amount would be sufficient for the production of approximately 90 tonnes of VX. Furthermore, Iraq had, inter alia, over 200 tons each of the precursors phosphorous pentasulphide and di-isopropylamine. These quantities would be sufficient to produce more than 400 tonnes of VX. At present, there is no conclusive evidence to support Iraq's claims concerning the complete disposal of these two precursors and the choline.
So how long was that convoy of trucks that went to Syria ?
The UN document that this specific thread concerns however is extremely interesting and is also currently available on the UN site.
To all the libs in denial the plain truth is that Hussein was identified by UNSCOM as having large quantities of wmds. He has never shown any proof that he destroyed any amount of them. What conclusion can a rational person come to other than he still has them? It's that simple and easy to understand...as long as an irrational hatred for Republicans and George Bush doesn't cause a person to have their head jammed up their hindquarters.
And according to the Leavenworth docs, UNSCOM only uncovered small parts of the programs. Take for example in the missile department, project 1728. UNSCOM was trying to locate 5 'machines' to destroy. Do a text search on the translated Leavenworth documents and you will discover that Iraq was worried about the 110 'machines' they had associated with project 1728. And that is just 1 example.
The main value of this document, besides detailing many aspects of Saddam's biological research, is that this data can be used to cross reference or more fully understand the discoveries that are being made or can be made in the newly translated Leavenworth documents. There are also other reports on the UNSCOM site that are valuable. UNSCOM knew Iraq had sophisticated WMD. They saw some of it and had some of it destroyed. What they did not realize is just how extensive the programs actually were (that becomes apparent after reading the Iraqi Leavenworth documents).
Now that leads up to the main questions everyone was asking 2-3 years ago. Where was it ? Where did it go ? How come we could not find it ? Well we are starting to see some of the answers in the early Iraqi documents. Saddam had extensive programs to hide and conceal (in Leavenworth documents). He was also given plenty of time before the invasion to move it out of Iraq and to clean up what was left. We also have reports of long convoys of trucks traveling to Syria just before the invasion. We are still analyzing the documents and have many more to go. Hopefully some of these mysterious answers will be discovered. But the plain facts are that he had extensive WMD programs and he could not document their destruction. So the phrase 'No WMD' is patently false. The correct phrase is 'What Happened to His WMD ?'.
