Son's Death in Iraq Prompts Bid for Congress (Michael Berg blames Bush for Zarqawi killing his son)

Michael Berg says he and Nick shared a belief in taking a principled stand. It is this belief that Mr. Berg says inspired his Green Party bid for Delaware's only Congressional seat in the wake of Nick's kidnapping and killing in Iraq two years ago.
"Nick stood by what he thought was right," said Mr. Berg, a 61-year-old former teacher who is trying to unseat a seven-term Republican, Michael N. Castle. "I plan on doing the same."
The videotaped beheading of Nick Berg, a 26-year-old freelance radio-tower repairman, shocked a world audience after it was broadcast on the Internet.
"I'm in this race to win," said Mr. Berg, wearing his standard outfit jeans and an antiwar T-shirt while seated in the cafe in downtown Wilmington that he uses for interviews, since his wife forbids members of the news media in their home. "But the larger point is to get more people talking about the war."
Mr. Berg said that in deference to his family's desire for privacy he initially avoided speaking in public about his son's death. But he soon changed his mind, drawing attention after telling reporters that his son "died for the sins of George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld."
He has not stopped talking about the war since.
"It is pretty discouraging that there are so many families in the same awful position," he said, adding that since his son's death he has become a close friend of Cindy Sheehan, who lost a son in the war and has become a highly visible war protester.

Of course, that might be just what those goofy folks in Delaware want: a certified nutcase representing them in Congress.
Teacher! Any more Q's???

Michael Berg hurts. We cannot deny that. He lost his son. He is probably unfit to serve in Congress. We can't deny that either.

I intend to pray that a.) they will NOT exchange bodily fluids, and b.) if they do, that there is absolutely NO chance of impregnation, the gene pool has already been polluted and diluted with the insanity of their illogic.

Here we go again.
Berg went there on his own to make money. He put himself in Iraq without the permission of the American Govt.
For Micheal Berg to blame Bush is like blaming the sun when you get skin cancer.

See there! I told you we had stuff on this guy -- and that was only a few seconds' search.
Why do I remember Michael Moore being involved with this guy?

Did anyone really think this t#rd was going to go away? He's an unreconstructed communist who is trying to ride his son's corpse to elected office.
There is no lower form of life.

He's cracked - it was apparent from the get-go that he hates America.
Cindi-cee's husband split form her - maybe these two can ride off into the sunset with each other and leave the world alone.

I sympathize with this man. Who can't? Losing a son so viciously and publicly is something that no parent could conceive happening to their child. His son's murder was the first of many horrific snuff films to follow.
However, taking Mr. Berg's state of mind into consideration, it's clear that he's projecting his frustrations dishonestly and I'd dare say he's conscious of it. Nick Berg's fate was sealed from the moment he stepped on Iraqi soil. He was a bunny lost in a pit of vipers. The fact that Mr. Berg is capitalizing politically on his personal grief can't be ignored, either. It looks vindictive and cheap.
...telling reporters that his son "died for the sins of George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld."
Cindy Sheehan talks like that, too.

All Americans Should ask the question!
Have UFOs landed on earth, and extraterrestrials taken Former Secretary of State Colin L. Powell hostage? Is he still on the planet or has he lost his voice when the American people and the world need a sense of hope, reason, and direction the most?
He was instrumental in convincing the American people and world that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. Therefore, he assisted in our invasion and occupation of Iraq wherein over 2,000 of our sons and daughters have perished. And even more injured with missing limbs etc., in a questionable war in which they have served honorably.
Many Americans respected General Powell for his knowledge, professionalism, dedication, sense of direction, and attention to details.
Moreover, his glowing knowledge, longevity, and foresight once brightened the night for members of our armed forces. And they proudly accepted and followed his leadership with confidence.
I believe the General is needed once again to give our nation the necessary thrust needed to bring the American Ship into the home-port safely, with pride, and dignity. If we fail to call on the great minds of today our nation may end up like the former great Soviet Union.
Before the Islamic world bankrupted their economic base through war, and destroyed that major super power.
We need General Colin Powell skills before America becomes economically ship wrecked on the high seas of history. Without even, a blimp appearing on the world radar screen of economic respectability before our national debt consumes our beloved Republic because of this war in Iraq.
If America is to be saved from economic disaster it is up to the American people to demand immediate change!
