"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time -- which is what is done in this case. "Tony's show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!
Kendall? Yes. I want to grow up to be just like you.
Let me look around. The Irish voted on it by referedum (as they do for just about everything) back in 2004. Something like 80% of those that voted, voted to restrict citizenship.
I will see if it has come into affect yet.
Irish_Thatcherite might be able to shed some light on the current status.
I did. jack pulled the "hack" comment out of a post by Old_Mil. Jack is innocent. FREE JACK.
Assimilation isn't the Key - it's a Necessity. Bilingual programs do not work for NY City, with as many languages as the United Nations General Assembly.
No .. I'm serious .. I think it passed .. but I'm not 100% sure
Interesting. So what were the draft dodgers who fled to Canada called? Not legal immigrants. Of course, that was then and this is now. Canada can be pretty tough about immigration. They had a case where a woman from some country was holed up in a church basement for a couple of years. There was all kinds of public outcry to let her stay. The government said no. She had to come in the country legally. She finally left Canada and went back via the proper chanels. She's now a legal immigrant.
I heard the new guy coming up the pike makes Fox him look like Julie Andrews in 'The Sound of Music'. Shudder...
I heard we will get no conversation outta him... period.
But what do I know... i'm not there.
Through all the immigration debate, one thing we need to keep in mind are the elections in Mexico in Dec. Fox may not be the best, but if the leftest gets in, it will be like having a Chavez on our southern border. Illegal immigration is a complicated and emotional issue (I've made many comments on my feelings), but I sometimes need to step back and look at the bigger picture and look at why the Prez may be taking some of the stands he is on this (though I know there are FReepers and Pubbies who are not at allo happy about it and say they're going to tear up their RNC cards, etc.).
Mexican leftist's lead narrows in election poll (EDUCATE YOURSELF ALERT!)

Mexican leftist presidential front-runner Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's lead slipped slightly in a poll released on Monday, after widening in other recent polls ahead of July elections.
The new poll by Consulta Mitofsky gave Lopez Obrador 38 percent of the expected vote -- seven points more than his nearest rival, conservative ruling party candidate Felipe Calderon.
The survey showed Calderon and Institutional Revolutionary Party candidate Roberto Madrazo gaining one point each to 31 and 29 percent respectively.
Mexico's election race has turned dirty in recent weeks as Calderon and Madrazo have tried to tarnish Lopez Obrador's image with personal attacks in television spots and campaign speeches.
Political analysts say it is too early to tell whether the negative campaigning is bringing his rivals results.
Only preliminary results of the poll were released on Monday. Pollsters did not say when the survey was taken, how many people were interviewed or what the margin of error was.

I very much enjoyed this editorial comment.
This is a lot easier in a country that only has 20 million people. Canada is funny. They can be so liberal about some stuff but conservative as the devil about others.
Rats - I didn't know it was on and missed it! I'll look to see if they rerun it tonight. I love his humor - on the dry side - -he can be very funny - -BIG TIME ;-)
Hey Tony--I was quoting another poster and defending you. Hope you weren't addressing me in your remarks.
:o)
Buff from the gym
Well said and agree!
It all got cleared up :)
Thanks Bahbah! I guess I forgot the quotation marks but I thought the rest of my statement made clear my point.
:o)
