I have more problem with those topics you mentioned of course. I have never stepped into a public school in my entire life. I really don't know what goes on except for these kids who don't follow rules of the school and seem to always taking in weapons. I am thankful to my parents for sending me to private school. We certainly did not have any discussions about why a student was wearing a certain tee shirt. It was all about school only. I graduated over 18 years ago from high school so of course in private schools it could be pretty bad too now.
I'm not trying to pick on you or anything, but who do you think is more likely to bring weapons into school and hurt people? (a) Someone who wears Confederate symbols? Or (b), a gang banging symbol of "tolerance and diversity?"
Who do you suppose is more likely to be the "racist" disruptor? (a), or (b)?
The left loves it when we pillory people for "thought crimes." When we do, we play straight into their hands.
I "gradukamated" from a public school, and I can guarantee you that, other than having an excellent English teacher, just about everything I learned, I learned because I spent time reading on the side. And I also learned that "tolerance" is a one-way street, and white males are not allowed to walk on it.
My examples of bringing in a gun and wearing a tee shirt are extreme examples of what the crisis of the public school today (probably not as gang infested when you were there depending on how long ago it was). I just think that if they have rules then folks should follow them and if they don't like the rule either leave the school or somehow try to get it changed by changing out school boards and things like that. All this girl had to do was change the shirt and wear it all day long at home or anywhere else. The school is just asking for certain items not to be worn for eight hours. It was her choice to wear the shirt regardless of the content. Why should she get money for it.

Good luck to her, but I still think that she disobeyed the school while wearing the shirt. Anyway, it will be a long time before the final outcome of this. I would think well after the end of the school year. It would be interesting to find out what happens, but most of the time after the initial story there is not too much follow up especially on FREEPERS.
i strongly suspect that in about 20 years, AZ,CA,CO,OR,NV & WA will withdraw from the USA to be Los Estados Unidos de Azatlan.

Can you cite the USSC decision? I'd love to read it.
Sure if every student is required to wear a white shirt and/or black skirt or dress pants. No FUBU, no Mexican flags, no goth, no nothing. Otherwise, the school is NOT the same as a business because homeowners do not pay taxes to keep the business running.
I sure hope she does win.

What are you talking about? If there is controversy in what "society can morally condemn", where does that controversy end up? In court. So the court is an extension of society or an extention of government? I learned it was a third branch of government.
