No American Flags Allowed at This Denver HS

Posted on 03/31/2006 2:09:54 PM PST by MadeInAmerica

I didn't see a specific thread on this sick one... It only gets worse.... (First topic post...be nice:)

From the DenverChannel.com

LONGMONT, Colo. -- More than two dozen students walked out of Skyline High School Friday morning to protest what they say is a ban that doesn't allow the American flag to be flown on school grounds.

Several students said that they were upset that Mexican flags can be waved around but that American flags couldn't. They said that school officials confiscated their American flags because it has become inflammatory because of recent immigration issues.

"When the immigration laws came out we noticed that a lot of Hispanics were waving Mexican flags and what we were thinking to ourselves is like, isn't the immigration law to stay in the country? You want to stay in America, correct? So I said, for every Mexican flag, you should have an American flag right next to it. So a few people went out and started waving American flags, and that's where everything bridged out," said Skyline student R.J. Fogal. "That's when they started telling us that we can't wave American flags, there's going to be no flags today, or everyone is going to be suspended -- whoever carries a flag."

"What we want to know is since when was it against the rules to have an American flag on a car, in a car, in your hands in a school?" said student William Cassity.

I have had it up to here with the punks walking out!

my reading says the students walked out because the American flag "isn't" allowed to be flown? Am I missing something?

Newark,NJ is full of schools that do not fly the American flag. They do have the Puerto Rican flag, and flags of other countries but not Old Glory.

It was in nearby Wheat Ridge, Colorado, where a school counselor took it upon herself to change the wording of the Pledge of Allegiance from "one nation under God" to "one nation under your belief system." The counselor claimed that she wanted to prevent "offending" any students or teachers by the mention of God. Can it be that the Longmont, Colorado, school officials find the Stars and Stripes offensive? Who in that beautiful state would be offended by the US flag--unless, of course, the offended party is Ward Churchill?

Even in the reddest areas, the schools are still ultra-liberal. What is scary is our academia are actively working towards the destruction of our nation.

I grew up in Longmont. Some areas of the town we used to call "Taco Flats" (if that is offensive, suck it up). This area is in the Skyline HS area. Some extremely rich kids, and some extremely poor kids. Not a whole lot of in between. This does not surprise me. The Niwot HS (I went there) walk out shocked me tho'.

In Colorado, it was March 19, 2003 at 10:15pm EST.

You know what is really funny about this. When the real far left (communists) take over like in Russia or China, who are one of the first ones they exterminate. The teachers and politicians because they know they are the ones they have to worry about the most.

"Taco Flats"? I could never be offended by that. I never even heard of it before. Actually, it takes ALOT to offend me. Believe me even some flames I get on FREEPERS don't offend me and I get quite a few...LOL.

OMG, He was my principal at Niwot when I was there 20 years ago. Our VP was Jerry something. Our school was run by Tom and Jerry.

If you check out Skyline High School, you'll find it's test scores are below the state average in EVERY subject area. With an idiot like this as principal, it's no wonder why.
