Dear doug,
South Dakota might seem far away from home, but the abortion ban its politicians just enacted affects every Californian. This ban - without exceptions even to protect a woman's health or for survivors of rape and incest - is designed specifically to challenge Roe v. Wade in the Supreme Court. And its supporters admit it publically.
Many of you have called or written us to express your concern and your desire to take action. And NARAL Pro-Choice California is ready to deliver.
Please click here to fund our staff members' grassroots work on the ground in South Dakota this spring.
With your help, we will head from California to join our sister affiliate, NARAL Pro-Choice South Dakota, and other pro-choice leaders in that state to collect enough petition signatures to put the ban on the ballot this November.
We must gather more than 17,000 signatures in a matter of weeks, at a staffing cost of more than $50,000 per week. That means every gift from our supporters counts in our race against the clock. You can help us by giving generously today. Click here now!
The field team will need organizing supplies, lodging, and transportation to cross this expansive state. And the more help we get from you, the longer our staff can stay with the field team in South Dakota.
So don't wait to give your urgently needed gift to NARAL Pro-Choice California. Please click here to give right now.
If recent events in South Dakota do not inspire each of us to action, what will? We cannot allow anti-choice politicians in one state to make decisions that could eliminate fundamental freedoms for all American women.
I know you will agree that we cannot afford the consequence of doing nothing. Anti-choice forces will continue to build on the momentum they've established in South Dakota as many other states are considering bans of their own. They won't rest until they've taken away every woman's constitutional right to choose. We cannot stand by and let this happen.
This effort will take time, tireless activists on the ground, and most importantly, your help. We only have a few short weeks, so please don't close this email without clicking to give a donation. Please help our staff head to South Dakota as quickly as possible to repeal this abortion ban.
Thank you for helping send us to South Dakota!
Sincerely,
Amy Everitt State Director
Pro-choicers want to help put the ban on the ballot? Okay.
I thought this was a cute line, since the abortion crowd uses court decisions to eliminate fundamental freedoms for all American children every time they get a favorable court decision.
Yes, I love it. I guess they really believe that voting on this will give them the result they want. Be sure and sign this thing, Doug. A vote would be a wonderful thing, especially in a state like North Dakota.
Gee whiz, from this letter you'd think something bad was about to happen instead of something wonderful that should be happening in the other 49 states. Here's To South Dakota!
How many real Rapes and Incest cases are there a year? Rape cases are problematical, I didn't want to do it, pant, pant, incest how many real cases a year?
I have identified this as one of the many problems that rat will face this cycle. The baby killers are in a high state of aggitation. They are scared of Roberts and Alito and South Dakota and Casey in Pa. are just about pushing them over the edge. This will help us in November.
I worry greatly about November. The base is really angry with our president over the border issue.
I'll be sending the Governor a post card with a special thanks. It wasn't originally planned to be a "reverse-boycott", but hey, it is what it is.
I'll be posting the pics, and the post card here on FR
Maybe it could turn into a running FR "SD reverse-boycott" thread??
