Its Time to Spring Forward to Daylight Savings Time
KTLA ^ | March 31, 2006 | KTLA

Posted on 03/31/2006 11:43:42 PM PST by FairOpinion

Millions of Americans will lose an hour's sleep Saturday night, as daylight savings time returns.

Officially clocks should be moved ahead one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday, but most people will change their clocks before going to bed Saturday night.

The lost hour will return October 29 when clocks fall back to standard time.

Congress has passed a law changing the dates of daylight-saving time, from March 11 to November 4, but that doesn't take effect until 2007.

I had no idea they do daylight savings in Iraq.

DST can be found worldwide. It just starts and ends at different times. My wife in Ukraine turned her clocks forward last Sunday.

It always used to be April. Next year, we're gonna turn the clock ahead in the dying days of winter.

Yeah, congress now thinks it has the power to add daylight to the world. These dummies actually think that we are going to save energy by manipulating the clock.

During this idiotic discussion I wish I could have had time on the floor of Congress to shout, "There's still the same amount of daylight, you morons!".

Seems to me that every 24 years we would have to skip a day to keep the calendar correct.

You called?

Laugh!

I wouldn't care if the sun set at midnight - as long as we stuck with it. It's the twice a year change that makes me Grrrrr. . .

At this time I also cut a foot off my blanket at the top and sew it on the bottom to make it longer.
Its an old indian trick.
Works just as good as DST. Actually better.

I hate it the most of everyone.

No. you cannot hate it more than I. I hate it with a depth than cannot be measured of expressed in any language earthly or extra terrestrial.

Lucifer's hatred for God pales in contrast to my loathing for this fubar biannual cluster**** and for the pinhead brainstems that foist it upon us.

I enjoy the extra hour...means I can get in a full round of golf after work...sit on the deck and chat with the wife, avoid doing yardwork and extra hour...

I don't play golf. I do not have a deck. My son does my yard. I chat with my wife online.

What's in it for me, save messing up my cicadian rhythms?

I love living in Arizona.

You all move, we don't.

Best thing is that now the Sopranos come on an hour earlier!

i agree. it is the dumbest idea that has ever been devised.

there are even studies that show an increase in traffic deaths because people are so sleepy on the monday morning following the change in clock time.

GUNS don't kill people; DAYLITE SAVINGS TIME kills people!!!!!!!

this killer MUST be stopped!!

maybe we can trick congress into extending DST longer and longer every year, until it lasts for the entire year.
we can say it's for the CHILDREN!
then, we won't have to change our clocks twice every year.

"Daylight Savings Time is so pointless. It's like cutting one foot off the end of a blanket and sewing it onto the other end."
______________________________________

i think it was a major mistake to mention the blanket cutting thing.
congress will no doubt pass a law that requires people to do that in order to conserve wool.

Did anyone hear ABC's top-of-the-hour news this morning concerned the time change tonight? The reporterette explained that not only will we gain more sunlight during the evening, we'll also get an extra hour of sleep tonight...

LOL!!

It's nearly pointless here. It's already somewhat light at 5 AM and somewhat light at 11 PM. Soon the stars will become invisible at any time of day. It will not get anywhere near dark until late August.

i'm sorry, but the depth of your hatred for DST looks like LOVE compared to MY hatred of DST!
imagine if you were in prison for life for a crime that you did not commit, and you had to watch re-runs of "love american style" for the whole time.
you would hate the person who put you there.

that's how much I hate DST.
