Part of it is an abject fear of the liberal media.
Maybe another part is being inside the Washington Bubble.
As citizens, we just seem to have utterly lost control of our country.
What went wrong with our politicians is that they lust for ultimate power and greed. I wish we had a way of checking off shore bank accounts. They've probably got millions tucked away that has been paid to them by big corporations and others who have interests that they want badly enough that they are willing to pay Congress critters for their votes. Republicans and Democrats alike.
Over the years, they have passed laws that make them 'untouchable' by lawsuits and/or other liabilities. They have NO legal liability for their dirty deeds. The only way we will ever get America back is through a revolution, and that's not going to happen, because there is too much apathy in America.
They are not afraid of the media. They fear nothing, except losing their lavish way of life, so they will pander to whomever, whenever they have to in order to obtain their selfish ambitions. Even though it means selling America down the river.
They live in their own little world in DC where they call each other the "esteemed" or "honorable" Senator, or Congressman as they attend parties, operas and other gala events that are fit for royalty. THAT is exactly how they see themselves. They, along with the tyrants in the Judiciary and with the help of the ACLU, are destroying America, and guess what? There is not a darn thing we will do about it.
