I think there are some good family films coming out these days.

Pirates of the Caribean
The pixar animation movies
Narnia

I think disney has been doing a pretty good job recently considering they went though a period of making horrible movies in the later 90's.

Makes sense to me. I wouldn't pay two cents to see Sharon Stone's old cooter.

Yup. Wait til the kids are in bed, and you don't have to pay a babysitter.

The first one was OK, the animation in Melt is much better.
AS far as the other parts - we went to see the flick on day 2 of showing in Anchorage - we got tickets but was the only showing not sold out (we saw like 5 empty seats. Must have been nap time.
The 'adult' stuff was for the adults, enough slapstick for little ones, a solid message about believing in yourself and overcoming fear - and the opossums were just funny enough to carry Ray (Mannie). Our 2 YO grand doughtier got a couple of laughs, but I think the target group is 5 to 10 YO.
Worth the early bird price.

I took my wife out to see IA2, it was a really good movie and not like 90% of the crap out there which aims more at pushing the envelope than pushing a story..

Nice so see 'Basically it Stinks 2' do so badly..

I think you're right there. I don't think Spielberg or Lucas have the will to make communists the bad guys. Lucas said on the Phantom Menace DVD that he took inspiration from the North Vietnamese, so it would be a shock.

In order for her to accept retirement from that role she would have to be able to play another..

I'm guessing a clip of the beaver shot will be available on the net sometime as well, if I don't feel like watching the movie.

There are beaver in Ice Age 2...

Close. It's Latifah. I'm not a big fan of her personally, but she put out an album of standards under her own name (Dana Owens), and an oldies channel played some songs from it. She really does have a nice voice and she's a lot nicer to look at than she was when she first hit the scene.
