Hollywood would be best to make family films again.

Hey, a patriotic film might be nice every once and awhile as well.

Sharon Stone isn't exactly the girl she was years ago. It makes me think of the upcoming Indiana Jones movie...stop and leave the legacy where it's at.

"It proves people will line up for the right movie if given the motivation."

Ya think?!?!?

And a fun, quality family product that doesn't insult the US or God.

Econ 101 -- meet the market.

"... prehistoric animals migrating to safety when global warming threatens to flood their home."

Oh no! Global warming! Were the animals driving SUVs? How will they survive without their glaciers?

Has anyone ever noticed the sexual overtones in these animated movies? I just saw "Ice Age 2" and there are a ton of punches or hits to the groin area (Eddie Murphy, Raw: "You can just graze the nuts and the man'll be [expletive deleted] up!")

Some furry things are more attractive than others.

If you get my drift.

Makes sense to me. I wouldn't pay two cents to see Sharon Stone's old cooter.

I took my wife out to see IA2, it was a really good movie and not like 90% of the crap out there which aims more at pushing the envelope than pushing a story..

Nice so see 'Basically it Stinks 2' do so badly..

Doesn't it bother anyone else that the apparently accepted abbreviation for "million" is M?

Where I was taught, M was the abbreviation for "thousand."

They didn't abbreviate million, but I expect it would be something like MM.

Hollywood will see this and probably try Brokeback Mammoth next.

Why is Hollywood shocked?

Ice Age 2 is the first family film with marketing behind it released in 2006.

There have been 2 more, but they had next to zero marketing, doogle and hoodwinked..

Its not really suprising that the last really well marketed family animated film, "Chicken Little" which came out in NOVEMBER 2005... that there was pent up demand for a good family animated film...

I know we'll be going to see Ice Age II probably next weekend... provided the weather is nice... planning on seeing it at the Drive In.. was a little too chilly this past weekend.

Honestly I can't believe Basic Instinct II even got a green light... for god sake, the original is so old and not one to lead to folks clammoring to see what happens next.

I can't wait to see Ice Age II! The first Ice Age is our family favorite! My husband and I love it as much as the kiddos do!

when Hollywood wakes up and realizes the movie business is not about itself, it will start to make money again

Sharon Stone is NOT aging well. I think it should be called Basic Itstinks 2.

Good news though, I predict it will win several RAZZIES next year. Hmmm, worst picture, worst actress, worst sequel. Any more that you can think of?
