My main point was; put the crap back into the RATS lap at this point, deflect the fallout to them, then you gain political cover to get a better border security bill, AND retain control of Congress in 2006!

THAT would be great. How would Reid explain voting against it?

I brought this up here about a week ago that the RATS and the DNC were behind all of this to start with. That's right and it was organized quite some time before this broke. I would be interested in being directed to any article that illucidates how the Dems introduced it and how they are manipulating the Pubbies into keeping it in.
Making illegals felons is a non-issue for me and I suspect most of us who want something done about our borders. Make the employers felons for hiring illegals and dry up the jobs. The illegals will self-deport at their own expense.

I agree somewhat with that, but I think the first step should be better border control to stop the bleeding, (read fence).
The point is that we can do nothing at all if the RATS gain control of Congress.

However anyone feels about the current immigration debate, this is a great way to feed the RATS their own words back to them on a stick! Totally. They should ram it down their throats. I just got home and I see there was a little excitement. I hope this really comes to life. It will really crush them.

Thanks! I just got home from work. I missed all the excitement. I had gotten a ping earlier in the day from Mark Levin saying he might use it, but I had to go to work and couldn't listen to the radio.

I'm guessing you passed this on to Rush? I just got home. Glad to see this getting some airplay. I really, really want to see the Reid bill reintroduced. Can you imagine anything better???

They really can't get away with as much as they used to. It's a beautiful thing. But I really want to see the bill reintroduced. I'm sure the Senate is probably too "august" a body to pull such a stunt, but man I'd love to see it.

Where did you get the idea to post this? Were you the first to unearth this speech? Harry Reid was apologizing today on the Senate floor for this 1993 speech. He was repudiating it.

"Petardosphere" is one terrific coinage. At the same time, you might also want to coin "retardosphere," as it will have wide use when describing certain coconuts on Capitol Hill.

Drudge posted something about the 93 bill, I think. Then someone, michegander?, referred me to the thomas library of congress site and I ran across this speech and posted it. then I went to work and missed all the fun. Still assessing what I missed.

Thanks. I guess Drudge got the ball rolling. He might have gotten a leak from a Hill staffer that dug it up. I doubt Drudge found it via his own research.
