Why shouldn't citizenship be given to those that came here for a better life?
The illegal today is no different than the tens of thousands of Europeans that came here BEFORE the nation was born.

WRONG They come here for jobs because Mexico is a corrupt third world country with no hope for them. The problem stems from them getting into the US ILLEGALLY.
They ARE different from the European immigrants who came here legally to become Americans. They did and gave their part in making America great. The current immigrants do not and cannot assimilate because they are ILLEGAL. Their numbers continue to increase. They drain our resources,(schools, hospitals and social services). Many are violent criminals. Others bring diseases that we wiped out long ago. They vote ILLEGALLY in our elections for pandering politicians. They are sending between $20 and $30 BILLION a year back to Mexico. That's 3% of the Mexican gnp. That should give you a clue why the Mexican government is helping them get here and exploit our systems. If we enough of them back home Mexico would collapse within a month.
I say, "NO WAY JOSE". As for our weak-kneed republicans and the idiot demorats, you had better grab your fat pensions and head for the hills while you can.

That's right. He betrayed conservatives, who then stayed home and consoled themselves, with warm thoughts on how hard the GOP would fight for conservatism, without the power to do anything about it. That's called cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Fine. So what laws can WE break with impunity? Get real here. I don't care if someone wants to immigrate to this country. Just like a guest to my home, I would like for them to knock on the front door and ask to be let in.
But what this law is saying is: Go ahead and break our immigration laws, steal accross our borders, and avoid the law for five years and YOUR IN!?!

If we can do that for foreigners, what can natural born citizens get away with? I'd really like to know.
It is ridiculous, stupid & assnine, to spend billions for Homeland Security; do full body cavity searches on grandma with her walker wanting to board a flight from one state to another, and God knows what else, and then leave your southern flank open, exposed, and un guarded. And THEN turn around and say; well you broke out immigration laws, made it here, you avoided capture for your illegal actions; as a reward, here's your pass!

Nonsense. They are no different than the Irish or Italians or Germans than came and caused so much angst for the CHILDREN and GRAND CHILDREN of.....IMMIGRANTS.
Today, Washington, DC has a CHINATOWN, Baltimore has LITTLE ITALY, Buffalo, NY has a KAISER TOWN. All these quaint places started out as neighborhoods where those damned immigrants refused to assimilate.
It should be no mystery why immigrants at first have problems assimilating. They feel safer and more comfortable with their own kind.
And to read the hateful, ignorant and bigoted responses from so many on this site, it's no wonder.
I was raised and grew up with a union father. He referred to the immigrant of his day as "D-Ps" which stood for displaced persons. He was angry that they got jobs at FORD MOTOR CO. and wouldn't assimilate.
For all I know they could be the great grandparents of Freepers today.
Perhaps I feel this way because I have been self-employed for so long.
And let's face it. Nothing truly great and wonderful will ever happen in your miserable life until you are your own boss.
I, along with almost everybody I've blogged with or heard on talk radio today, am going to boycott the 2006 election to teach our party a lesson about how important its base is. I won't vote for a liberal, no matter what party he or she belongs to. This goes for my wife as well.
That is a stupid thing to do.
If you must protest, vote for somebody different in the primaries...but don't stay home.
You're handing the Congress and the White House back to the Clintons and your taxes will be raised.
Plus everything the GOP has accomplished will be lost.
