Whew (wiping sweaty brow), forget it. It got deep-sixed. It also showed who is who as for what they are in real life. That's the thing to remember about this. And McCain and Specter learn how popular they actually are.

I've notified my 2 Senators how I feel about this crap! 1 appears to be a fence sitter (Kay Bailey Hutchison) and I warned her that an aye vote would make me do everything possible to see to it she doesn't get reelected.

"Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas, the No. 5 Republican in the Senate, came out against the Hagel-Martinez legislation.

::applauding:: Thank you Senator Hutchison!

There is hope for the Republican party!! I thought for a while that we were doomed because it seemed like that the Republicans had morphed into liberals.

"Harry Reid needs to have that self-satisfied smirk slapped off his face, figuratively if not literally."

Reid v. McKinney in a bicameral cage-match?

"Yesterday morning's vote fell 21 "ayes" shy of the 60 needed to end debate so that final debate and a vote could be held. Five Democrats -- Sens. Robert C. Byrd of West Virginia, Kent Conrad of North Dakota, Byron L. Dorgan of North Dakota, Bill Nelson of Florida and Ben Nelson of Nebraska -- joined all Republicans in the filibuster."

Way to go, North Dakota- Conrad and Dorgan are a couple of DINOs I can admire, at least on this issue.

I really wonder if Frist allowed the bill to go to the floor thinking that it would be defeated and then allowing his bill to be sent to the floor.

That will certainly smack those damn smirks off of the the faces of McKennedy.

We shall see later today.

Don't forget about Emergency rooms. 15 have closed in southern CA because of them. The illegal's rule is- to get carried in by a paramedic squad. That way we are FORCED to treat them. The ones that are still open are a third-world dysfunctional toilet.

Chambliss and DeWine. Two Republicans who will never see a dime from me, and whose primary opponents will always count me among their donors.

That appears to be the case. At least this time the RINO vote is the one that will be split in the primaries, not the conservative one.

If we pass a bill that says any Mexican in this country for 5 years is a citizen, why dont we just pass a law saying anyone who has served 5 years in prison should be set free and his debt to society is paid in full?

We have people in this country making our laws that dont know what ILLEGAL means.
