John was the only apostle to die of old age. It is possible he completed his own gospel - even if it was 70 yrs after the resurrection as he was very likely the youngest apostle.

I don't know where you get your information, but in most Christian churches it is regarded as fact that the Gospels are historically accurate documents, and are accounts of actual events witnessed by the authors themselves.

Sorry, but your information is wrong. Matthew and John were Apostles. Since Jesus was crucified in 33 A.D., and the latest found fragment (7Q5) now puts Mark at approximately 42 A.D. then the earliest Gospel has a date only 9 years after his death. The other Gospels were written well within the 70 year time frame you mentioned, and only the hyper-skeptics would agree with you. See Dating the New Testament.
