If every single liberal on planet Earth was rounded up by crazed Muslim militants in Iraq, and were systematically tossed into a swimming pool of nerve agent so acidic that the bodies vaporized on contact...

Stop. You're teasing us...

If the White House was converted into a plutonium-ringed crater and Osama Bin Laden appeared on CNN announcing he got it from Saddam, WMDs were not found.

If poison gas was sprayed over all of Europe and they were plunged back into the days of the Black Death, and Mohammad Al Ima Gona Killu was on TV proclaiming it came from Iraq, WMDs were not found.

If every single liberal on planet Earth was rounded up by crazed Muslim militants in Iraq, and were systematically tossed into a swimming pool of nerve agent so acidic that the bodies vaporized on contact, the very last liberal tossed in would proclaim "Bush lied! No WMDs were ever found!" with their last dying gasp.

bump!

I am currently in Iraq and I have spoke to two Marines who have seen WMD’s. I, myself work in environmental clean up.

Godspeed to you, hildy123.

I never said the lies were Bush's fault. Don't get so defensive.

I did question his failure to defend against the lies more aggressively, which he did fail to do (and actually helped to perpetuate).

You addressed the NSA program, but not the WMD program. Perhaps you didn't have anything to address the WMD failure, so you changed the subject.

But, your point did lead me to another observation, so thank-you for bringing it up.

Yes, Bush failed to counter the "No WMD" lies. However, his willingness to confront the "Illegal Spying on Americans" lie head-on may well be evidence that he learned from the previous error.

He has been out there front and center on the NSA issue as you correctly point out. As most Americans aren't concerned with the NSA thing, his efforts to circumvent the Dem's lies this time are working. Most don't learn from ther mistakes. Here, Bush may have.

Not true. Americans hate it when it can be proved that they were lied to. Just let a compendium of evidence be mounted, push the story hard, and the results will forever stain the dims and their lying liars!!!

I hope you are right.

I find some plausibility in your reply. Perhaps not as much of a "cabal / conspiracy" kind of thing mind you, but the basic premise could be part of it.

This goes to Eastforker's original statement too - Russia and China. But we all do recall that France doth protested just a wee bit too much.

I assumed it was b/c they were getting rich off "oil for food." But, I suppose they could have had other types of dealings contrary to UN sanctions.

Of course, if MOST of the weapons are in Syria, we can't really start pounding the table quite yet.

The fact is that what has been found was a tiny fraction of what we were told was there. What we have found would justify invading my neighbor's barn, but probably not someone else's country.

I was operating off the premise that a lot more have been found, based on this article, than even you are acknowledging. My question is based on the assumption that your statements are part of the lie itself. Who knows though.

Remember the convoy though. Regardless of how many have been "found," the reality is that if most of the weapons were spirited off to Syria, I suppose we wouldn't be in a position to pound the table on them quite yet, even if we knew it and knew exactly where they are.

My Soldiers found a rather large stockpile of chemical weapons in Iraq on their last deployment. For some reason it was all hushed up very quickly. No one knows why.

You offered, perhaps naively: "it was tagged, sealed and monitored by the IAEA". Uh, we found out that the U.N. inspectors were allowed to 'tag and seal' lots of things, but were not permitted to check their 'tags and seals' easily, sometimes having to wait months for permission to check their 'tags and seals'. Try another approach other than placing faith in the same fools who waltzed the oil for food program.

They were indeed permitted to check their tags and seals - the last check was made less than two months prior to the US warning the UN inspectors to leave the country.

Face it - this was not a 'find'. The international community knew that they were there, legally. Wise up.

So now we've gone from "most of the weapons were found" to "most of the weapons were moved and therefore cannot be found".

Perhaps if the weapons were indeed moved to Syria, and were therefore not in Iraq, we invaded the wrong country?

Explain the Hamilton NJ Post Office, please. Not only did Iraq have WMD's they DID use them against us. Thank G-d, they were pretty dang ineffectual.

In my humble opinion, people don't care about truth anymore. They believe so strongly in their case that nothing can persuade them otherwise. Therefore they are susectible to every tin foil lie that comes down the pike. Bush lied about WMDs. Right. What a 'slap your mother in the face' God Damn Lie that is. Iraq was a WMD dump as well as a haven for terrorists. You know, I don't care if the MSM carries this. They have their own agenda of trying to harpoon the president. I believe and that is enough for me...

I have concluded that politics has essentially changed from an intellectual undertaking of choosing candidates that represent your interests and viewpoint into a competitive sport. It matters more to people that they are on the winning side of the election than it means to them to have their interests represented in government.

There is no "loyal opposition," there is just opposition. The opposition is not loyal to the interests of the people, the opposition is only loyal unto their own political power.

Friend, I can not call your denial rational. It is not only irrational, it is dangerous and deadly. Wake up.

It was tagged but it wasn't sealed. After they knew it wasn't sealed the UN demanded its removal and was ignored.
