We hit a pothole with Katrina. It's not unrecoverable. And yes, the President has the obligation to speak. I think he's been trying. He does have this sort of nobelesse oblige his father had about not wanting to get into the daily partisan warfare. There IS something admirable about putting the country's welfare before political advantage. Unfortunately right now the country's NEED is also expressed most validly in Republican principles. And if we don't start now, and don't hold the Congress, the next 2 years will be hell (another 25 cents for the cuss jar).
