There's no question that the drive-by media funnels the message. But if the President wants, he's got the bully pulpit. If he were to answer his critics on say, immigration, and explain why his policy conforms with enforcing our laws but growing our country the way we want it grown (Remember the City on the Hill?) he can grab it back. The Press loves a catfight. I think it's time we had one. I think it's time to name names. They started last Saturday with Harry Reid, but not enough people listen to the Saturday Radio show.
The problem with George Bush is he's just too polite. He is not trailer park trash like the last guy. He's like his father in that he just doesn't like conflict. What we need to do is get his mother involved and have her make him fight. After all, if she won't let him put his feet on her coffee table, she should be able to threaten him into fighting back. They don't call her the enforcer for nothing. If he doesn't want to fight for himself, he really needs to fight for us.
