There was already a made for TV movie about this flight, so I don't know how this will be any different or provide any compelling reason to go see it.

TV already did it? Well, there you go. That couldn't POSSIBLY be topped.

I saw the A&E movie about United 93. It provides a pretty high standard for the theatrical movie to compete with, much better than I expected from A&E. No real politics, not a whole lot of embellishment, it seemed pretty accurate to the story, given that we'll never really know all of what went on in the cabin of that 757 during the last 30 minutes before it crashed.

The reason for seeing this presentation is that ALL of the families of those on 93 were behind this effort. That's good enough for me. Plus I'm glad it's being done. So many have either forgotten or elected to forget about everything that day in September is all about. I HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN!
I remember a movie from 15-20 years ago called Miracle Mile, which was an "end of the world" type of movie. From the beginning of the crisis in the film, where the nukes were launched, to the end, when the impact occurrs, it was real time, and it was very suspenseful. I thought Titanic could have been real time. it was over 3 hours long, and the sinking took about three hours, but James Cameron saw fit to tack a love story on to it (but we got to see Kate Winslet naked).
I'll probably go to the film to show my support, but I don't know if I can sit through it; it'll be intense. i did not watch the TV version for the same reason.
