Couldn't happen to a worse fishwrap that poses as a "newspaper". For as liberal as they are, the NYT is apparently too liberal for most New Yorkers.
"The times they are a-changin'". (From an old folk song)
I totally agree -- profits are a funtion of revenue and cost. Revenue is listed first in the profit and loss statement -- but we'll talk about cost here first so as not to admit the real problem to those that just scan the paper and don't read the entire story.
Yes, it's tougher now:
Michelle Malkin:
Questions about the documents' authenticity were first raised last week on the indispensible conservative Internet forum, FreeRepublic.com, then amplified and supplemented by the intrepid independent bloggers of Powerline, Little Green Footballs, INDC Journal and Allahpundit.
Our local conservative leaning newspapers have had a record year in advertistment sales and revenues (company's private stock going up over 10%). Subscriptions are also up. The liberal leaning rags in the area are in a slump. hmmm... No, correlation I suppose?

A few years ago Ann Coulter wrote about Pinch and recounted how he could not get into Columbia University. When a Sulzberger cannot get into Columbia, you know that he or she must be REALLY REALLY stupid--not just garden-variety stupid.
Lets see now:
1 The N.Y.Times is fading
2 Al Qaeda in Iraq and its presumed leader, Abu Musab Zarqawi, have conceded strategic defeat and are on their way out of the country, a top U.S. military official contended yesterday.
The group's failure to disrupt national elections and a constitutional referendum last year "was a tactical admission by Zarqawi that their strategy had failed," said Lt. Gen. John R. Vines, who commands the XVIII Airborne Corps.
"They no longer view Iraq as fertile ground to establish a caliphate and as a place to conduct international terrorism," he said in an address at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.
Gen. Vines' statement came as news broke that coalition and Iraqi forces had killed an associate of Osama bin Laden's during an early morning raid near Abu Ghraib about two weeks ago.

Must be GOOD FRIDAY!
Good news. Good people are connecting rapidly. Thanks Liz. New Media...BTTT!
From the article:
All three publishers highlighted the strength of their own Internet businesses. The New York Times said revenue at its About.com site rose 98 percent since it acquired the site a year ago, but still accounted for only 7.5 percent of total revenue.
About.com is Marxist homosexual central. It used to be a free site and it's revenue only went up 98% because people had to pay to be members or get the continuous pop-up ads and junk e-mails or get banned for some absurd reason because they opposed the homosexual fetish religion.
The sister site is Delphi.com, which is also where the Washington Post has some pre-screened, pre-approved, filtered discussion forum. They suck too... neither is worth a nickel a year.
Why not just print the truth?
Thanks this is absolute great!
The South Park Guys win again and so does our President in this great viewing of President Bush vs the Media.

thank you, suprisingly windows movie maker isn't that hard to use for editing. :)
Windows once you get into most parts is often very easy. The problem is the awesome number of parts put together to make the current Windows system.
They all have the same amount of "parts"
monitor
Keyboard
Mouse
Chasis/Computer case
Motherboard can have onboard sound/video/NIC/Firewire/USB, (I personally like the video cards better)
Processor & Heatsink&fan
Hard drive
video card or onboard video chip
Power supply
Optical drive of some sort
nic card or onboard chip or modem
floppy(optional)
I build my own computers. :D
and RAM (I'd suggest no lower than 1GB)
"and RAM (I'd suggest no lower than 1GB)."
When my current 5 year old HP dies or gets ready to die, 1 GB will be my minimum.
The OWG owns it's own paper mill so the cost increases in paper should not be as significat as for other papers who must buy on the market. Here's a passage fron their website. (I wonder if the paper makers in Maine feel any responsibility for the havoc they wreak on America by enableing the NYT)
"The history of Madison Paper Industries (MPI) is one of a company with remarkable heritage. The manufacturing Investment Company originally occupied the property on which Madison Paper is currently located. It was purchased in 1889 so that the company might build a sulfite pulp mill. One of Manufacturing Investments original investors was Vermont native and incumbent President Calvin Coolidge. As a New Englander, Coolidge recognized the potential for the mill predicated upon its proximity to water, hydropower, high quality wood resources and a community renown for its work ethic.
The Companys revitalization began in 1978, when the Myllykoski Corporation based in Finland, purchased the property. In 1980, Myllykoski joined forces with the New York Times Company and, in 1981, completed a $200 million modernization project. The result of the investment was North Americas first Tampella pressurized groundwood (PGW) pulp, and a state-of-the-art Valmet paper machine. MPI became the first mill in the United States dedicated entirely to the manufacture of supercalendered paper. Madisons Symmetry quickly established itself as the industry standard because of its superior characteristics, utilizing state-of-the-art technology"
