Man Sentenced For Throwing Rocks @ Border Patrol Chopper
Azstarnet/AP ^ | 4-14-06 | The Associated Press

An illegal immigrant who tried to bring down a U.S. Border Patrol helicopter by throwing rocks at it was sentenced to 38 months in federal prison, the U.S Attorney's office said.

Antonio Eretza-Florez, 33, will also be on supervised release for 36 months following his release for the July, 2004 incident. Eretza-Florez was a passenger in a stolen vehicle packed with immigrants that a police officer in Huachuca City tried to stop. A chase ensued and the officer ran his patrol car into a ditch.

U.S. Border Patrol agents arrived to help, and a helicopter and an unmanned aerial vehicle also were brought in to search for the fleeing vehicle and its occupants.

After the vehicle became stuck, Eretza-Florez ran into the desert and was chased by Border Patrol agents. As the helicopter flew low to guide the agents to him he threw several softball-sized rocks at the aircraft. The pilot had to take evasive maneuvers to avoid them, and one rock passed through the rotor blades.

Eretza-Florez pleaded guilty on Dec. 1 to aggravated assault on a federal agent and a charge of re-entering the U.S. after being deported.

LOL... Our "Catch & Release" is bad enough...

Now it looks like taxpayers must fund "Supervised Release" of these crimial invaders.

What the hell is supervised release for an illegal alien. Does that mean he isn't allowed to return where he came from but has to stay in the US and report to his parole officer? What kind of nonsense is this?

Each deported law breaking criminal sent back to Mexico needs to be implanted with a chip.

Deep enough so he can't dig it out.

Then scan every one sneaking back in to find the repeats.

Put them in jail for 10 years and bill Mexico for their incarceration.

He's a dangerous guy so therefore we can't send him to Mexico because then we don't have our eye on him and he will cross into the US the day after he is sent back.

Yes, our leadership is that weak and unwilling to do what is necessary to protect our country.

Yep, & a federal agent at that.

I wonder how many *Guest Parolees" taxpayers are funding to be US **supervised** after the US jail time.

Rock-Chucker Ping!

That only works when they come back through a Port of Entry manned by immigration officers? Do you have a freaking clue what percentage of illegals do that? Try less than one in a thousand.

Article in the Sierra Vista Herald (www.svherald.com) had a whole lot more details in it, including the pursuit and eventual apprehension of this bozo.

It includes the fact that the BP used a UAV to track the truck and some of its occupants.

He won't be "supervised" for long - he'll go "into the shadows", get a new fake ID and re-emerge with a new name, then he can resume his rock throwing career.

And the Texas Rangers still have no depth in the pitching staff. The freakin Yankees are gonna have this guy on the farm team in 36 months and one day. Just damn.

The important question: is he still eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship after his release?

Well duh.

My plan (sorry to not to have supplied all the details) would include hiring enough Border Patrol agents to find every criminal sneaking into our country and equipping them with a scanner.

Or the second choice would to have a scanner 2,000 miles wide. Suspended over the border with sky hooks.

That would be best IMO.

This is a small government conservative approach that we should advocate? And does your brother-in-law make really good scanners while paying union wages? Sorry to be so facetious.
