These jokers want us to capitulate on the War on Terror! How can anyone seriously consider them. Here is there platform:

America is engaged in an undeclared war with an ill-defined enemy (terrorism), a war which threatens to be never ending, and which is being used to vastly expand government power, particularly that of the executive branch, at the expense of the individual liberties of the American people.

The "war on terrorism" is serving as an excuse for the government to spend beyond its income, expand the Federal bureaucracy, and socialize the nation through taxpayer bailouts of the airlines, subsidies to the giant insurance corporations, and other Federal programs.

We deplore and vigorously oppose legislation and executive action, that deprive the people of their rights secured under the Fourth and Fifth Amendments under the guise of "combating terrorism" or "protecting national security." Examples of such legislation are the National Security Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the proposed Domestic Securities Enhancement Act (colloquially known as "Patriot II").

The National Security Act is used by the federal government as a shroud to prevent the American people and our elected officials from knowing how much and where our tax dollars are spent from covert operations around the world. The National Security Act prevents the release of Executive Orders and Presidential Decision Directives, e.g., PDD 25, to the American people and our elected representatives. Not only are many of these used to thwart justice in the name of national security, but some of the operations under this act may threaten our very national sovereignty.

The USA PATRIOT Act permits arrests without warrants and secret detention without counsel, wiretaps without court supervision, searches and seizures without notification to the individual whose property is invaded, and a host of other violations of the legal safeguards our nation has historically developed according to principles descending from the Fourth and Fifth Amendments.

Since we will no longer have a free nation while the federal government (or the governments of the several states, as the federal government may authorize) can violate our historic rights under such laws, we call for the rejection of all such laws and the ceasing of any such further proposals including the aforementioned Domestic Securities Enhancement Act.

The Constitution Party is unalterably opposed to the criminal acts of terrorists, and their organizations, as well as the governments which condone them. Individuals responsible for acts of terrorism must be punished for their crimes, including the infliction of capital punishment where appropriate. In responding to terrorism, however, the United States must avoid acts of retaliation abroad which destroy innocent human lives, creating enmity toward the United States and its people; and

In accord with the views of our Founding Fathers, we must disengage this nation from the international entanglements which generate foreign hatred of the United States, and are used as the excuse for terrorist attacks on America and its people. The 'war on terrorism" is not a proper excuse for perpetual U.S. occupation of foreign lands, military assaults on countries which have not injured us, or perpetual commitment of taxpayer dollars to finance foreign governments.

Putting more conservative judges on SCOTUS and Federal Appeals Courts is the primary reason for staying the course with a Republican President and Congress

I gotta admit, you've got a point there.

If all that is sought is to attract attention, then attract it in Democrat districts. Attention given can be particularly negative. How do you think Ralph Nader is viewed by leftists nowadays? Have a look at his results in 2000 and then 2004.

At the end of 2005 I decided to never throw away my vote again on Republicans after the first term of G W Bush only got tax cuts done for a domestic agenda, followed by the MISERABLE failure of his 1st year of his 2nd term. G W Bush is already as lame as a lame duck can get and the Republican Party is taking their cue from him and sucking bigtime. Government is larger than ever, the federal budget is $2,800,000,000,000.00! NONE of this is acceptable with Republicans in control of the House, Senate and White House. All spending bills have flown across Bush's desk with nary a veto. The only thing Bush has threatened [strongly] to veto was giving port management to that UAE company!

No movement on reducing the size of government.

No reduction in spending.

No privatization of Social Security/Medicare.

Come to think of it, since the Social Security maximum income is now $94,200 from last year's $90,000, I've BEEN HIT WITH ANOTHER TAX INCREASE.

THANKS A LOT BUSH!

Perhaps spoiling rather than party building is the agenda.

That's it. In fact, most of the Constipationists admit that "teaching the GOP a lesson" is the reason for voting for these losers.

It's like the guy whose dog messes on the carpet and, in order to teach the dog a lesson, he locks himself out of the house.

Don't think so..... Voted in every election since 1966. Never miss one. After I'm dead, I'll register as a Democrat so I can still vote.

"That's how to get the GOP back on track. Politicians listen to their constituents."

Such garbage. Case in point. 2 senators in CO, Salazar a Dem, and Allard a Rep. I know Salazar is not going to vote the way I want no matter what. But Allard is sitting on the fence concerning this illegal immigration issue. I can trust Salazar, he's an idiot, but I can't trust Allard.

Go right ahead. Continue to support the "two" party only mechanism. Just don't complain 20 years from now when this country is even more screwed up and the Constitution is even more unrecognizable and obsolete.

No movement on reducing the size of government.

This is always the most laughable demand of conservatives.

Let this sink in: no president since Calvin Coolidge (1924) has left the government "smaller" than when he took office!

The American voter doesn't want "smaller" government. If it did, that's what politicians would deliver.

"Ah...yes it has advanced my agenda. Perhaps not as quickly as some would like. However that little 8 year detour called Bill Clinton was the result of people who were too impatient to work the system. That detour really did slow down my agenda and resulted in Ginsberg, Breyer, a huge tax INCREASE and a stupid payola-based foreign policy that resulted in an increase in terrorism. The way to influence a party is NOT to make it lose but to make it win so it controls Government. Then kick its butt while it can still do something. A left wing ass is hardly going to feel a right wing boot. To the left feeling that boot is a badge of honor."

And how do you suppose we kick its butt while it can still do something. They have to lose once due to their votes being siphoned off to a more-conservative, third-party. Sometimes lessons hurt, but they have to be made. You are never going to change the Republican party back to its platform without making it lose during the off-year, non-presidential election. Period.

Then another party (Constitutionalists would be fine) will automatically rise up and challenge the Republicans, and if they cannot govern they will see the same fate as the Democrats.

Cool! Then I'll actually have good choices to make in government.

Just filed an extension for taxes...Might as well vote for the socialist candidate, since I'm supporting two other families besides my own...and I am middle class America.

There will have to be a tipping point someday....

Too bad the Constitution and Libertarian parties are so messed up on national defense, or they'd actually be a viable alternative.

I'll be campaigning for "Blank" in '06 unless the GOP shapes up and quick. The impact of millions of cast but blank ballots would really shake things up.
