Christians don't have nearly as much spending power for vacations and play time as homosexuals do because they have children to raise, which costs, and often only one parent works.

LOL! SF is where they live the other 11.5 months of the year.

They're expensive years, too. It costs between $700,000 to $1.2M to treat one AIDS patient.

"What?! San Francisco is number THREE?!

That's because most of SF is gay already, they don't need to travel anywhere for their abominable life style. Amen.

You are wrong. San Francisco was NEVER "mostly" gay. That was a misperception that many folks had. That was due to our "wonderful" media that blows everything out of porportion. At its peak there were about 100,000 homosexuals here when the City was at about 750,000 people. That was the most but it's homosexual population is getting smaller.
San Francisco is about 10% homosexual, it's numbers steadily dropping as homosexuals find themselves now so tolerated in other towns. They can even legally marry now in Massachusetts. Their abominable lifestyle is even courted by the tourist business in this country....that's this freeper thread.

Homosexuals say that there are about 80,000 in the City, but most people, even other homosexuals, put that number lower now.
It might have been that high during the 70's and 80's but once "gay" neighborhoods are now becoming heterosexual....with more and more Chinese moving in.

San Francisco is 25% Hispanic, 30% Chinese, 6% black (down from 18% in the 70's) and the rest white. We are almost 800,000. Pretty smallish city, comparatively.

San Francisco doesn't pay for the AIDS/HIV treatment. The "better off" men have health insurance. The poorer men go to General Hospital. Taxpayers pick up most of the tab as the money comes from welfare. That's the same with the drug addicts....taxpayer money.

The Catholic Church picks up 90% of the tab for the other stuff, halfway houses, meals on wheels, hospices, etc. The City kicks in 10%.

"Lol"?? That's a strange reaction from you. I suppose you find the entire subject humorous.

"I'm just grateful that they've taken notice," she said. "Look at the gays and lesbians, they have money!"

? ? ?

I am starting to suspect the veracity of ALL the 'studies' and 'research' that surmise all this 'gay' money is out there. Why would the financial 'gay' research be any less junk science then all the other studies shown to be nothing more that homosexual agenda driven junk science?

There might be a self-selection bias in the data. That is, relatively well-off gays might be more likely to identify themselves as gay then non well-off gays. This would make sense if one assumes that to self-identify as gay does take a certain amount of independence (i.e. having to risk being-cut off from family, etc.

First, you don't know me, so you have no basis for saying my "LOL" response is strange. Second, it was a joke, and didn't require a lecture. Third, I don't require a lecture on SF because I am very familiar with the city, having been there literally hundreds of times as a nearby resident for over fifty years.

But, thanks anyway for the info. I agree they are an abomination and a disgusting spectacle. I was much more sympathetic to them before they got in everybody's faces with their obscene demands and behaviors. They have become "social blight."

They represent 2% of the population and yet seem to have a demographic influence outweighing all but the largest minorities; there are a lot of sub-groups that 2% of the population is is a part of that no one every notices. Why is this? Could it be an agenda???

I would venture a guess that it is the $65 Billion they are spending on travel. That's the only "agenda" the tourism industry cares about.

"When 20,000 gay men crowd Palm Springs this weekend, they won't be faced with politics...

... just a city that has spawned businesses and services to cater to them."

I'm afraid to ask!

In other words, "Bring your orgies on down"! Why not ask "Swingers" to "Bring your wife swapping on down"?
Is there no limits to what people can decend anymore?

I don't know you therefore I DO have all the "basis" in the world for not understanding your "lol." It wouldn't make sense any other way.

As for the "lecture," well if you took it that way, then there ya go. It was information, MOST Americans don't seem to know. How would I also know that you are a Bay Area resident and know ALL about them? I wouldn't assume that either, not knowing you.

Since you are so cognizant of the "scene" then you also know that avoiding them is almost impossible; they are hair dressers, designers, teachers, cops, you name it. It's impossible to NOT TOKNOW that "all" of them aren't like that, "in your face," always in everybody's face with "obscene demands and behaviors." MOST of them are actually very nice, with no political or social agenda. Some of them are actually rather conservative and have only their sexual orientation to differentiate them from everyone else.

But having visited the city hundreds of times, since you live nearby, you also know that they don't ONLY live in San Francisco. They are ALL OVER THE BAY AREA. You also know that the standard "gay" areas have now changed so radically that even the Castro and Polk Street areas are mostly heterosexual. We remain their "rallying point" and "party place." Blark.

All old news for you.

Here's what you said that implied you somehow have a gauge on what I would think about this or that, "Lol"?? That's a strange reaction from you. I suppose you find the entire subject humorous." Had you left it at, "Lol? That's a strange reaction." it would have been clearer.

There's no way to know that the hairdresser or the designer or teacher or clerk we see on the job is not the freak in the nun's habit with his face painted orange waving a two-foot long penis in this or that protest. If you're intimate enough with them to know who is who, go for it.

Well, I wouldn't come up with that kind of image for anyone, but that seems to be what's in your mind.
Go for it.

Pedophiles are often "good," "decent" married men but lead secret lives, even to people who had known them for years.
Your rationale proves less than nothing.

San Diego is popular, because Gay guys LOVE a "man in uniform."

I worked with a guy in New York who went to San Diego and claimed to have slept with two sailors from the base.
